Chapter 14

"What are you two up to"?

Enzo:

The next morning I'm woken by aria drawing circles on my chest with her fingers. She realises I'm awake smiling before resting her head on my chest with her arm around my waist.

"You're awake", she says as I hum. "What time is it"? I say waking up as she replies. "9". "This feels nice", she says looking up at me. "What does"? I reply. "Being back here with you", she replies. "It does, and it's never going to change ever again", i say as she smiles.

"I have a question", she says sitting up resting her head on my shoulder. "Why didn't you tell me you had him"? She asks as I look confused. "Gio"? I reply as she nods. "I didn't want to upset you or have you thinking about him", i say.

"I'm just glad you have him now and that I won't see him again", she says. "Your safe aria, you don't have to worry about anything happening to you ever again", i say reassuring her. "How about we go and get these bandages changed", i say taking my arm from around her.

I lift her up so she's sat and the bathroom counter before peeling away the old bandage from her arm leaving the other 2 till last. "What are you going to do to them"? She asks looking down at me fixing her up.

"Who"? I ask placing a fresh bandage on her wound helping her off the counter. "You know who", she says. "Nothing less than what they done to you", i reply as she gives a faint smile.

I kneel down now face to face with the 2 matching wounds either side of her stomach peeling away the bandages. This is the first time I've seen the wounds upfront, they got her good. It makes me think how they could willingly do this to an innocent person, that innocent person being my girlfriend makes my blood boil more.

"Enzo", she asks making me look up at her. "It's okay", she says passing me fresh bandages from the side. "This is what nearly killed you", i say. "This is what killed our baby".

Aria:

"This is what killed our baby", he says looking back down at the wounds on my stomach as I hold my breath before looking away. He finishes up re bandaging the wounds before standing back up in front of me as someone knocks at the door.

"What", Enzo says standing in-front of me as I face away. "Phone call, it's urgent", someone says before re closing the door as I face back around. "Are you okay here"? He asks as I nod. "It's fine you go, it sounds important", i say as he plants a kiss on the side of my cheek leaving.

I follow him out shortly after finding some clothes to wear for the day as someone else knocks at the door. "Don't come in I'm changing"! I shout as someone speaks from the outside. "It's Lexi, I have food"! She shouts as I unlock the door for her.

"Perfect let me just finish getting ready", i say walking back into the closet for a shirt.

"So you know about enzos father finding them"? I ask as she nods. "Yes, it's great news enzo had a meeting with them all last night when we were up here", she says. "He let them know that he's going to be dealing with them in the next couple of days and that he's leaving most of his guards here", she says.

"He strictly said he'll hold every single person accountable if even a scratch appears on you", she adds. "His overprotectiveness has tripled since all of this happened so you really aren't going to get any freedom", she says.

"Great", i reply. "He's just trying to keep you safe, you can never be too sure", she says as I agree. "What else was said In the meeting, he was gone for hours", i ask.

"His father sent over blueprints of the building they were in along with the rooms dedicated to each person", she says. "There were photos taken of each person that have all been placed inside a file containing details of each including gio", she says.

"Photos of everyone from that night"? I ask as she nods. "Every last one, that survived of course", she adds. "I want to see it", i say as she looks confused. "You want to see the folders with the photos"? She asks as I nod.

"Why don't I like where this is going", she says. "I just want to see them, there was just one guy that stood out I want to know who he is", i say. "Stood out"? She asks. "He was the main guy that beat me, the only one without a mask I can still picture his face", i say. "He's the reason for you know", i say quietly.

"The baby", i add bitting the inside of my cheek. "I just want to make sure he gets what he deserves", i say as she agrees. "Of course every single one of those guys will get what they deserve but I don't think I can get you those folders", she says.

"Please lex, I just need to find him", i say as she looks uncomfortable. "Okay", she says as I hug her. "Thank you lex", i say.

We make our way downstairs towards the office as Caleb comes behind us. "What are you two up to", he says noticing it's me. "You're meant to be on bed rest", he says louder as Enzo appears from the kitchen.

"What are you doing"? He asks walking over. "I just wanted a drink", i reply as he stands to the side letting me walk past. We both sit at the counter facing Enzo and Caleb as his phone rings taking his attention away from us.

"Go and get ash", he says to Caleb as he walks away leaving Enzo with his back turned. We both look at each-other knowing the plan slowly stepping from the chair leaving the room.

We make our way back to the office letting ourselves in. "Where will they be"? I ask as we both walk around the room towards the desk. "Either in one of these drawers or on a shelf", she says walking over to a bookcase leaving me searching the desk.

"They were in a blue folder, Enzo uses black folders for everything so the blue will stand out", she says. "Got it", i say coming across a folder opening it to reveal photos of many men propped up on chairs with their arms and legs tied the same way mine were.

I sit down at the desk as Lexi stands beside helping me search through the folder spreading the photos out on the table. I look around the photos ticking them off as I go knowing it wasn't them as my eyes meet the same eyes of the male that attacked me.

"Him", i say picking up the photo of the guy. "What the fuck"! Someone shouts walking in.
