Chapter 6

"I'll never forgive myself for what happened to them both"

Enzo:

"I'm taking your response as you wasn't aware that she was pregnant"? She asks. "Are you sure you don't have people mixed up"? I ask. "I'm 100% certain that it is aria I'm ever so sorry for your loss if you'd prefer to take time to think about it your more than welcome and I could discuss further at a different time", she says.

"No I just want to know what happens now", i say. "So there are 3 options we could offer for you although we can't guarantee arias health for them all", she says. "Option 1 will to have a cesarian where we will cut through the lower stomach and into the uterus to get baby out".

"Option 2 will be to wait and see if aria wakes and then have her take medicine to induce Labour and baby will come out naturally but it will be still Labour". "And option 3 will involve her being placed under local aesthetic where we will go in and take baby out ourselves", she says.

"Which is the one you wouldn't recommend", I ask. "That will be option 2 the still labour as we can't guarantee she'll be awake which will make it hard for her to physically push out the baby herself and even if she does wake she might not be physically strong enough from what has happened to her", she says.

"What are the other 2 options again"? I ask. "So option 1 will be to go in from the stomach and option 3 will be to go in and take baby out ourselves that way", she replies. "Option 1 will leave her with a scar across her stomach from where we had gone it whereas option 3 will leave no scarring", she adds.

"I understand that this may come to a shock and you definitely do not have to make a decision this second I'd be more than happy to let you go and have a think about it, but aria can't make the decision right now so your our next hope", she says as I cut her off.
"Option 3", I reply. "Mr marchetti I really recommend you do have a think about this as it's not an easy decision", she replies.

"No she would want option 3 she has enough scars as it is", i reply. "Very well if you're happy for us to do so we can schedule that whilst she's under surgery now so that baby doesn't get more injured or cause her any complications", she says. "We will have a midwife visit after the procedure is finished with a full update on her situation thank you for your time", she adds.

"Thank you", i say before leaving. I make my way out towards the exit to get some fresh air before sitting on a bench outside the building. My head falls into my hands as I think about how I couldn't be there for her in time to save both her and our baby. My baby died because of me and I'll never forgive myself for what happened to them both.

Santi:

"There's the nurse walking by now so he'll be back any minute", Caleb says as we watch the same woman walk by. "Something doesn't feel right she would've just said the update in front is us all if everything was okay", Lexi says. "I'm going to go and find him", i say standing up.

I look around the rooms nearby which are all empty so I turn my attention to both the cafeteria and the toilets incase he had gone there. By the time I had checked all areas there was still no sign of him so I revert my attention to the area surrounding the building.

Walking outside I see someone with their hands in their hair and their leg bouncing up and down and I knew that was him. I rush over before sitting down beside him to make sure he was alright. "Enzo what's wrong what did she say is aria okay"? I ask as he sits up. "Arias fine", he said sitting back.

"She was pregnant and the baby didn't make it", he adds as my eyes widen. "Wait what she was pregnant"? I say. "I've just found out", he replies. "She never told me she was pregnant I never got to meet the baby and now I never will", he says with tears in his eyes.

"Enzo I'm so sorry", I say. "I had no idea, we knew something was wrong when we saw the nurse walk by with you not behind", i add. "I don't understand why she wouldn't tell me", he replies. "Maybe she didn't know or maybe she was going to tell you but was scared because of everything that had happened", i reply.

"What's going to happen to her now", i add. "They're going to schedule a procedure whilst she's still in surgery to have the baby removed, she said it'll be less of a danger to aria and less of a worry for the baby", he says. "This is all my fault I should had never got her involved or this wouldn't have happened".

"I couldn't save her in time and now I've lost both her and the baby", he says. "Don't speak Like that Enzo you need to keep your head held high and think positive for arias sake you two are the strongest couple and u know for certain she'll pull through", I say.

"She's so brave and so strong she would do anything for you and you would do anything for her", i add as he nods. "Remember the time she pushed one of us down the stairs and when she stabbed me", I say trying to make him smile as it works. "Yeah", he says smirking.

"She could fight any battle and always win and she's proving that to you right now, you need to stay calm and keep thinking positive to get you and herself through this", i say. "Come on it's late as it is we all need some rest especially you she wouldn't want you out here thinking your the problem".

"she'd want you to be inside and ready for when she wakes up", i add as we both stand up making our way inside. "I cant sleep tonight what if they have an update and we are asleep", he asks. "Don't worry I'll stay up so you can get some rest for tomorrow and if there is an update I'll wake you up as soon as they come in", i reply.

"Let's get you some sleep".
