FELIX'S POV:

I ran my finger on my red cheek. I think it left a mark...

Both Beth and Lianna reached their hand out to help me up. I noticed they gave each other a seething look. I had a split-second to choose.

...

I grabbed Lianna's hand and she lifted me up. I stood up and wiped some dust off my jeans. I had never been in a fight before. Except with my siblings, of course.

"Are you okay? That looked pretty rough." Beth asked.

"I guess so. It still kinda hurts though." I answered.

"I'm gonna go check on Edison. Bye." Beth said.

"Bye..." I mumbled, watching her stroll off.

I don't know why but... Lianna just randomly hugged me.

"I'm sorry that happened to you." She said in a sweet, soft voice. Instant butterflies emerged in my stomach. I think I started blushing but, I don’t know. I wrapped my arms around her.

"Thank you. I'm sorry for the way I acted. And, I mean it this time. There's a special girl in my arms and, I can't give this opportunity away." I said. We stayed in that hug a few minutes longer than we should’ve.

But then I heard Beth's voice and we pulled away swiftly.

"He gave me the camera. He says he doesn't want to work with us anymore. He's gonna get his group changed." Beth said.

"What about us then? Aren't we supposed to have a fourth person?" I asked.

"He's gonna switch with someone. That someone is gonna come find us soon. We'll have to wait here until they come because the teachers won't let the groups go outside until they have all four people." Beth said.

We waited silently. I tapped my fingers on my thigh anxiously, sitting on that cafeteria bench. People were leaving the dining hall and going outside, and eventually we were almost completely alone. There was a few people and teachers on the other side of the hall.

Beth tried batting her long eyelashes at me. Not sure why but, instead of butterflies, I just felt annoyed. I rolled my eyes at her, she sighed and turned away, looking at paintings on the wall.
