Is this what I've become?
A disempowered, plucked-petaled flower,
fearing what I could be if the scales fell from my eyes.
So you told me again and again
I was born with Original Sin
lying deep within this unholy embodiment.
I must continually atone
this parasitic home
trapped in a betrayal of my own flesh and bone.
