On the Morrow, Aelora got herself ready, she felt different about herself, she found comfort in wearing her mothers old dresses that she wore when she was her daughters age.

As heir Aelora made it her duties to hold a council meeting every week, just to get a taster of what her responsibilities as Queen will be like

As heir Aelora made it her duties to hold a council meeting every week, just to get a taster of what her responsibilities as Queen will be like. Aelora spoke to the council about getting allies for herself, as not many houses have bent the knee to her. Lord Corlys gave Aelora advice on how to act as Queen, he proud of how strong she was despite everyone not believing she would be a good Queen for the people.

Aelora's brothers Jace and Luke were furious with their sister, they believed she wasn't punishing people who have already done her wrong within the first couple of weeks being named heir.

"We should get allies from Winterfell?"

"Yes Princess, Winterfell has the support from the Starks, they already bent the knee to your mother, if you can get them to bend the knee to you, that's another ally to secure your claim." Corlys expressed.

Jace came storming into the council room.

"Sister!?" He yelled.

Aelora looked up with confusion, and embarrassment, as her younger brother yelled at her in front of all the lords.

"Not now Jace. Then we should-"

"The Greens have threatened your claim? And you're worrying about Allies!? We should go back to Kinglanding this instant!"

The room went silent.

"No?! My first duty as heir is not to declare war over something that hasn't even happened yet?." She yelled back.

"You should have your betrothed beheaded for his behaviour then." He said underneath his breath.

Aelora heard what her brother had just spoke, her face turned straight into anger, her feelings towards Aemond never went away, even if anyone was to speak badly about him she couldn't help but express the anger on her face.

"He made a false accusation at the dinner Jacaerys."

Jace was furious he couldn't believe what his sister was saying.

"I don't believe this! You care for someone who has called you and us bastards all of our lives!"

The room was stunned, no one dared spoke a word. Aelora had enough embarrassment for one day.

"Lord Corlys empty the room."

Corlys didn't hesitate, all the Lords left in silence, leaving the siblings to speak privately

"I will do no such thing brother."

"You took his eye? And you think he's going to give you the throne that technically is his?"

"Aemond will not take my throne."

"And you know this how?" He spoke sarcastically.

Aelora hesitated before saying another word.

"I.....trust him"

Jace couldn't fault his sister for seeing the good in everyone, but sometimes that is not what it seems.

"I hope you know what you're doing sister."

Jace then leaves the room trying to calm down. Luke on the other hand didnt say a word, he walked up to his sister and took her hand.

"I believe in you Aelora, I know what you're doing is the right thing. But Jace has a point, Aemond is reckless, he wouldn't think twice about usurping you, I don't think for one second he cares about you, or even....loves you."

Aelora held her brothers hand tightly trying to hold back her tears.

"I know you speak sense Luke, but I trust Aemond, I don't think he's the monster everyone makes him out to be."

Luke and Aelora both left the room together, they walked down the castle halls and separated when they got to their chambers.

Aelora sat in her chamber and walked up to the castle window. She looked out from dragonstone onto the sea. She knew across the sea her mother was ruling the kingdom she would one day rule. Aelora took a deep breath and decided to get some sleep.
