Lavender Haze (Acoustic Version) by Taylor Swift

Headcanon opinion that Seb would be a Swiftie. I am not personally, but I believe he would be. Sorry, I don't make the rules.

The blood sacrifice will have a direct impact on the power that the relic can conjure. The stronger the source of magic, the stronger the relic's effects are.

That didn't make any sense to Sebastian Sallow as he read the scraps of paper. He only had a basic understanding of blood magic from his trips to the restricted section, but everything there claimed that all blood was powerful. Despite pureblood's politics, their blood wasn't actually any stronger than a muggleborn. The notes about controlling the relic's power didn't seem to make any sense with the laws of blood magic.

The passage must have been referring to something else. Like someone's importance to the sacrifice or their status. He didn't want to entertain the idea of the 'stronger source of magic' quite yet.

"Hey, I thought I might find you here. Is everything alright?" Antheia called out as she entered the Undercroft.

The cracking of the opening door had scared him at first, he didn't expect anyone to come check on him so soon. After they had left the catacomb with the relic things had only gotten worse. He was still ashamed of everything that happened with Ominis and didn't think either of his friends was eager to speak to him anytime soon.

"As fine as they can be," Sebastian sighed.

The honey-colored girl plopped herself comfortably down next to him as she eyed over all of the research notes. The sweet scent of strawberries kissed his nose and was a much better smell than the rotting paper he had been sorting through.

"Want to talk about it yet?" Antheia asked as rested her head atop of her knees.

"Not really."

"You can't hide down here forever."

"Well I can't go back to my room," He groaned, "If Ominis wants to kick me out of here too then I'll head back to the shed for a few nights. It's not a big deal. He'll understand when Anne is cured."

Sebastian didn't like the look that Antheia was giving him. Those dark brown eyes were supposed to be filled with joy, not pity.

"Sebastian," Her voice was an unspoken plea. Even she was upset with him about everything.

"I'm not ready to apologize yet," Sebastian told her, a bit more bitter than he intended. But he was upset himself still. There had been enough fighting with Ominis and Anne, he didn't want to fight with his Thea too. "You all have a right to be upset with me. But I'm upset too! But Anne would be dead if I hadn't done anything!"

"I don't care about that," Antheia growled. It was the first time that she had sounded annoyed with him. "I'm mad that you cursed Ominis!"

Sebastian's stomach dropped with guilt at the reminder. It wasn't an action he was proud of.

Ominis hadn't planned on letting him leave with anything. The relic had already taken his blood and he wasn't sure why it had still, leaving without the relic wasn't an opinion. There wasn't going to be another way, Ominis had said it himself.
