"Toujour Pur," Amelia Blackwood declared. The door to the Headmaster's office turned open before them revealing the grand spiraling stairwell.
It was the day of the Slytherin and Gryffindor match for the semi-finals. It was a bit longer than Antheia had cared to wait for to break into the Headmaster's Office. But the Ravenclaw girl had insisted that this was the best time to do so. While Headmaster Black was away cheering on his team, the girls would know exactly how long they had until he returned to his office, it was the safest approach.
As the two stepped inside the office Amelia muttered under her breath angrily, "Va te faire foutre."
"Should I take offense at that?" Antheia questioned.
The crow-haired girl merely shrugged, not bothering to look over her shoulder at her as she spoke. "It wasn't meant for you, but take offense to it if that's how you feel."
Antheia looked at the girl carefully as they entered the office. She wasn't entirely sure why she had been so instancing on coming along with her especially if she had already known the password would open the door so she watched her closely until she could figure out her true motivation. Her assumption had been that she insisted on accompanying her into the office likely to protect the Black Family name. Perhaps she would leverage the situation to gain something from the family.
Antheia was concerned if she would allow her to leave with the Sorting Hat once it was found. They didn't seem to fully trust each other.
The room had been unchanged from years ago for the most part, with a variety of books, relics, and trinkets shattered in the office. Most belonged to the castle and not the Headmaster himself. There were countless secrets hidden among the walls, but their time was limited.
Antheia didn't know where to begin her search so instead she watched Amelia Blackwood as she strode straight up to the writing desk. Without so much as another thought, she had already begun opening every drawer on the table in search of something. She pulled out sheets of paper, quills, ink, everything that seemed common enough before taking a seat in the headmaster's chair as carefree as if it was the desk in her very own dorm room.
"What are you doing?" Antheia asked curiously.
"What else does it look like?" Amelia bickered, "I'm writing a letter."
"Right now?" Antheia scoffed, "That seems like something that should have been done beforehand."
The Ravenclaw didn't answer her as she enchanted the quill to begin writing, then went straight to preparing melted wax for the letter. It wasn't clear if she was being ignored on purpose or if she was too focused to answer her.
Antheia did her best not to let it get under her skin as she walked around the room searching for the Sorting Hat. It was only ever used during the Welcoming Ceremony at the start of the year, besides being kept in the office, she didn't know anything else about where it would be. Part of her wondered if it would call out to her as the sword had, but her magic hadn't felt like it was pulling her in any direction.
She paced the room as she searched. There were countless things that caught her eye, but the hat remained unseen.
"I thought you said you've been in here before," Amelia called from the desk. "I assumed you already knew where it was." The girl hadn't been into the office before, but she had marched straight to the desk as if she had already planned out every move. It must have irritated her to be with someone so unprepared.
