The train ride to London had cut their trip in half, but there was still a long way to go until the group reached Maidenpool. Floo Flame landmarks were uncommon south of the city and it would take at least a week on foot to make it to the old town on the Southern shore. As long as they were able to find the relic while they were there then it would all be worth it.

Once they had the relic, they could destroy it and they would have Sebastian Sallow back finally. Everything could go back to normal. At least that's what everyone assumed when they began the journey.

Antheia was counting down each mile. It wasn't how she imagined spending her last winter break and she couldn't wait for it to come to an end. Her life had been out of control since the beginning of the school year and it was already half over. Each mile the trio got farther into the Southern region she felt hopeful of finding peace soon.

It was silent most of the first day among her, Ominis Gaunt, and Desmond Esper. A quiet train ride to the city as they all just kept up on desperately needed sleep.

Once they reached London, they had spent a few hours gathering supplies for the week ahead of them. Desmond had been eager to get out of the city as soon as possible. Traveling through the city without stopping already had him anxious. Even though he hadn't said anything to her, Antheia knew that he had missed his family too. It wasn't until they reached fresh countryside air that everyone began to feel more comfortable.

Leaving Hogwarts was always difficult. This time had been the hardest for all of them because of Anne Sallow.

Anne had spent most of the last week sleeping and resting since taking the cure. It hadn't seemed like everything was back to normal again, but they were healing. Every day she had found herself spending more time with the girl, watching the color return to her skin slowly and the bag under her eyes softening. Antheia did not want to leave her behind. The two had been growing so close to each other in the past few months and she felt troubled leaving at such an important time.

Even worse, Antheia didn't know where the demon was hiding. No one had seen them since the night it attacked her in the castle. Whether it was Sebastian or Marceline in control was unclear. Or what they either were planning to do next.

Had it followed Antheia when they boarded the train or was it lurking back in the hallways of the castle searching for the Repository?

Antheia was more worried about Anne's safety than the Repository. If Marceline's plan was to try and open the source of magic without her then it would fail. After the fifth year, she decided to place a blood seal on the door in the map chamber. She was the only key to open it.

Marceline Elm was known for being a divisive historical figure. The more Desmond had shared from his research through their history books about the witch's life, the more it worried all of them. She was most famous for being one of the founding pillars of the modern wizarding world, setting the standard for how to live in a separate world for generations to come. Separating muggles from magic forever.

There were many names given to her: Marceline the Mother of Dark Magic, The Founder of the Modern Era, and the most common, Marceline the Cruel.

It was her name that was credited for the burning of entire villages of muggles. There were graveyards that all bore her as the cause of death. There were even rumors of her killing her childhood friend in cold blood, another witch. Everything about her only seemed fitting of her name.
