Infinitely Ordinary by The Wrecks

"All I'm trying to say is that I think Ominis could do better..."
"Mhm," Anne Sallow mockingly hummed as she took a sip of her morning tea.
The twins always looked forward to their weekly meetups to catch up with each other. They were the last of the family so spending time with each other despite their busy lives had always brought them both such joy. With Anne away at school studying to become a healer and Sebastian working as an Auror, they often had only a short period on Tuesday mornings to meet for tea.
Mostly, they caught each other up on news of the prior week and this was no exception. Sebastian Sallow had still been processing the revelation of his best friend's feelings in the passing days.
"Are you really that surprised?" Anne teased.
Sebastian felt flustered at the accusation. Now that he had been told about Ominis' feelings towards Desmond Esper, he could see the connection that he had priorly overlooked, but he hadn't been happy about it. "That's not the issue," He clarified, "I feel like an awful friend toward Ominis. The fact that it's been going on for this long and he had been avoiding telling me makes me feel like a bloody prick."
"I wouldn't take it too personally, Sebbie. Ominis has never been the most forward person when it came to his personal life and relationships. He never told me directly about his feelings for Esper, I only got lucky and guessed."
"Why didn't you tell me?"
"It wasn't mine to tell!" Anne laughed with a devil smirk pulling her lips into a smile. "Besides, I'm not sure if anything would have ever happened between them. With the number of times that I accidentally mentioned Ominis' love life around Desmond, you would have thought it would have been mentioned. Desmond likely never felt the same."
"Accidentally?"
"Ominis was taking too long," She shrugged, "I think it's just difficult for him to find someone he feels comfortable talking to about everything."
Sebastian shook his head disappointingly. His sister always had a way of getting away with such reckless behavior under the cover of an innocent face and sometimes he had evied it.
"I have to get going to work," Sebastian sighed after checking his watch. "You should come by soon. It might help keep some peace between Ominis and Antheia to have you stop by. Stop in for dinner, maybe?"
"I have some free time after classes tomorrow." Anne smiled at the idea, "Can I bring Garreth with me?"
"If you must."
"Don't be an ass."
"I'm only joshing," Sebastian laughed, "Of course, you can."

Days at the Ministry were the main reminder in Sebastian's life that he was not a free man. Unlike the other Aurors, Sebastian couldn't simply just walk directly to his desk and begin work for the day. Instead, he had a series of stops to make along the way. His wand was checked daily for history of any dark magic violation, one offense was an instant break on his probation and ensured a speedy return to Azkaban. The list of questions about recently used spells and charms sometimes would take an hour before he was allowed to go to work.
