Under the Name of Love (Sonadow)

Chapter 1: Rival to Rival Combat

Rich green grass and distant trees pertained to their daily grace right in the outskirts of Station Square. A blue blur was caught rushing through this scenery as the azure sky almost blended with its spikes. He gently slowed down while his green eyes spotted the only 2 clouds right above his world. Then, he sighed in relief, remembering how lately there have been no troubles. "No troubles from Eggman. No troubles from his robots." He closed his eyes, and smiled.... "And when there's no trouble, what's better than to CAUSE some trouble? Hah!"

He ran again, aiming for Shadow's presence, who was dashing away with his air shoes. However, as soon as he saw him, he slowed down and lowly groaned.

"Shadow, running around these beautiful places?"

"Not you again."

"You know, it makes my day seeing you already. Oh, my knight in shining armor~... ready to test your skills again?"

Shadow pulled up his black cellphone which was kept inside a pocket from his G.U.N belt. He really did not expect Sonic for today, so he had to text Amy Rose:

-Sorry, I'm going to be late. Sonic wants me to kick his butt again.

-Oh, that's okay. I can wait! Text me when you are heading to the movie theater.

Sonic was baffled by his texting. "Phone? Too busy with someone special? A girlfriend maybe?" He winked at him. 

"No, just a friend. Still not surprised you haven't figured that one out yet."

"What do you mean!? If you love being such a lone wolf, having friends is the least thing I imagine from you."

"Alright, Sonic, but first."

"First?"

He chaos controlled behind him and kicked his back, causing him to propel and crash against a tree nearby. 

"Argh! Classic. You... now watch this!" He spin dashes while Shadow runs in a circle. The ball dashes towards him, but Shadow luckily evaded all his moves. However, Shadow lost track of him, that was until...

"Nice dodges, Shadow but can you dodge this?" 

His hand felt something slip off...

DARN IT, MY CHAOS EMERALD he rapidly thought as he stared at his bare hand. 

"Chaos Control!" Sonic shouted and appeared in mid air before throwing a kick at Shadow's face, seemingly like a hard slap. 

He groaned. "Sonic, okay! You want to play like that? Fine. Just know that..."

While Sonic teleported behind him, Shadow quickly turned and hit him first with his left elbow and then aimed a good punch at his chest, making him moan, fall back, and drop his precious jewel.

"...I get PLENTY of practice at G.U.N."

Sonic laughed. "Well, there is something they don't teach you there!"

"Oh yeah?" 

With his legs on the ground, he lifted himself a bit only to rapidly execute a low kick, immediately causing Shadow to slip backwards. Before he could slip further and do something, like use his chaos control, Sonic stood up smoothly, and held Shadow's hand where his green jewel was, as if to prevent him to use it. Before he could fall to the ground, he pressed his other hand against his back, now beholding a strangely flirtatious pose.

"They don't teach you how to captivate your opponents like this~" He smiled as both of their faces neared each other. After a second, Shadow shook his head intensely and pushed him away as far as he could. He realized that he blushed after that VERY unexpected turn of events. He growled, trying to suppress his red face. If he sees me now... DAMN IT!
