"Do you think he'll forgive me?" I asked Nonna as we sat on the steps of the family house. We were still in Italy, but our time to go back to America was near. We would stay a few more days before leaving.
H and I had to meet with the high table of elders before we left with my father. I was nervous but ready. The meeting would happen tonight.
"He will. It is not easy for a mother to lose their child." She smiled, rubbing my arm encouragingly.
"I'm sorry you understand the pain." I smiled sadly at her.
"It is, unfortunately, a part of life. Although you never imagine living longer than your children. It will get better. H will make sure of that." She chuckled.
"Thank you, Nonna. You have always been so understanding and kind to me." I said.
"I will be here to help if you need me." She said.
We sat and watched the sun set in a peaceful silence. It had been a few weeks since the war with Vincent had ended. We were finally free of him. They had made repairs to the house and the dock. It was like nothing had happened here.
We would have to rebuild our empire in New York City, something we knew that was going to be a project. It would take us years to return to the top, but we were prepared for it.
"The paintings in my room, do you know who painted them?" I asked, breaking the silence. It was something that had stayed in the back of my mind. It was driving me crazy, I needed to know.
"I was wondering when you were going to ask about them. They were created by your mother. It was your parent's room." She smiled. I was surprised and shocked by this new information. I was overwhelmed with a mixture of different emotions. Happiness, sadness, and regret.
There was so much I hadn't known about my mother, so much that I had missed. I was happy to have a piece of her still here with us.
I hugged my Nonna and let the slow, silent tears fall.
Nonna and I went our separate ways once the sun had disappeared behind the horizon.
I made my way back up to the room so I could get ready for the long night ahead of us.
I felt different. I felt more mature and maybe a little wiser.
I entered the room to see a set of clothes laid out on the bed. It was one of H's suits and a nice tie. His belt was there, too. I looked over to the wardrobe where two long dresses were hung. Their fabric looked soft and silky. I heard the shower running from the bathroom and went to investigate after I had locked the bedroom door.
I slipped my clothing off as I entered the bathroom. I took my hair out of the messy bun I had worn all day. I shook my head as my hair fell down to my lower back.
"H." I hummed as I stepped into the large shower. I watched as the warm water ran down his naked body. His muscles shifted as he moved his wet hair out of his face.
"Hello, love." He smiled and reached out to pull me closer to him. I didn't protest as he brought me underneath the warm water. H watched as it ran over the curves of my body.
"Your beauty makes it hard to be civilized around you." He smirked. I wrapped my arms around his neck and pulled his face closer to mine.
"It must be harder when we're alone." I purred.
"It's unimaginable." He whispered before connecting our lips in a kiss. My fingers tangled themselves in his wet hair as his went to my bottom. He squeezed gently, causing me to moan.
He didn't waste a second as he moved his hands and lifted me up by my thighs. He pressed me up against the shower wall. I could feel his cock grow hard against me.
