“I visited Jungkook.”

They finally sat back on the bed after finishing their session. Jimin sat in front of Taehyung wearing a bathrobe, indicating that he had just bathed. While Taehyung wore simple loose trousers and a t-shirt. It was early morning. As they sat, Jimin decided to reveal the truth.

A lump formed in Taehyung's throat but he didn't speak anything nor did he dare to look at Jimin.

“And... he's messed up.”

“When did you meet him?” Taehyung finally asked.

“I−... I went to his house yesterday, when you left for work..” Jimin stammered, he was feeling as if he cheated on Taehyung.

“W−what did he say?” Taehyung still asked, knowing well what Jungkook would've talked about, but it was as if his mouth was talking on its own.

“He... he was apologizing and... asking me to come back to him,” Jimin spoke and pressed his lips together in nervousness, anticipating Taehyung's reaction. However, Taehyung remained silent.

“Then what did you say to him?” Taehyung's voice came out after a minute, but it was barely audible.

“Of course, I said that I can't come back to him. I'm dating you and I don't love him anymore,” Jimin spoke.

“Are you sure?” Taehyung asked suddenly. Jimin raised his eyes to look at the taller, whose eyes was also fixated on him for his answer.

“Y−yeah... I love you now. I don't l−love or care about him,” Jimin replied and looked down avoiding eye contact. Taehyung sighed.

“If you don't love or care about him anymore then why did you go to check up on him?” Taehyung questioned and Jimin gupled. He didn't know the taller would gonna confront him like this.

“I've to get ready for the shoot,” Jimin excused and left the room, while Taehyung just looked down.

Taehyung lay sprawled on the couch, his gaze fixed on the ceiling, but his mind was miles away. Jimin had gone out to meet a friend, leaving Taehyung alone with his thoughts. And in that solitude, he couldn't help but dwell on Jungkook and Jimin. He wasn't oblivious to the sadness that had been weighing Jimin down lately.

The way Jimin always brushed off Taehyung's inquiries about his lingering feelings for Jungkook didn't go unnoticed. Taehyung could sense that Jimin still held a special place for Jungkook deep within his heart, and he couldn't deny it.

But he couldn't bear to see Jimin suffer like this. He knew that Jimin was concerned about Jungkook and wanted to help him, but he was holding back because of Taehyung.

Insecurity gnawed at Taehyung's heart once again. He couldn't help but chuckle at the irony of it all. Why couldn't he just be content with his lover? Why did Jungkook have to intrude into their lives once more? He knew that Jimin loved him, but he couldn't shake the feeling that Jimin loved Jungkook more.

Wiping away an unnoticed tear that had escaped his eye, Taehyung sat up. With a heavy heart, he made a decision. He knew it would hurt, but he was willing to do it for Jimin's happiness.

As Jimin quietly entered the villa, he headed straight upstairs to his room. To his surprise, he found Taehyung packing a suitcase with clothes. Perplexed, he approached Taehyung and stood by his side.

“Are you going somewhere?” he asked, his voice filled with confusion.

“Not me, you're the one leaving,” Taehyung replied, avoiding eye contact with Jimin, afraid that he might crumble if he did.

“Me? Where am I going? Did company arrange a trip for me?” Jimin asked, genuinely bewildered.

“No, I'm sending you back to Jungkook,” Taehyung said, his voice surprisingly calm. Jimin's expression changed instantly. At first, he couldn't believe what Taehyung had just said, thinking it was a joke. But as he looked into Taehyung's serious eyes, he realized that it was no laughing matter.

“Why? Did I do something wrong, Tae?” Jimin's voice quivered, asking like a little child, who just get order to be punished. Taehyung's heart ached, but he maintained his calm demeanor, not letting his inner turmoil show.

“No, love! You didn't do anything wrong. Please don't think that I'm pushing you away or anything like that. I just... think it's best if we part ways. It's not because I've stopped loving you or anything, but I've noticed how much you still long for Jungkook. So maybe it's better if we both... break up,” Taehyung cautiously explained. Jimin stared at him, wide-eyed, tears streaming down his cheeks.

“No! I won't go back to him, and I won't break up with you. I love you, and only you. I can't imagine my life without you, and I won't let you leave me like this,” Jimin said angrily, his voice trembling slightly as his throat went dry.

“Jimin, please don't say that. It'll be difficult for both of us. I know you love me, but you still have feelings for Jungkook, maybe even more than me, since he was your first love,” Taehyung's voice choked as he spoke this bitter truth.

“Yes, I still love him, but I'm not selfish enough to abandon you like this. You've been by my side all this time, and it wouldn't be right for me to leave you for someone who once betrayed me,” Jimin spoke with determination, taking a step closer to Taehyung and placing his hands on his chest.

“Jimin, please don't hold yourself back for my sake. Don't feel obligated to stay with me because of my actions. I love you sincerely, and that's why I believe I should let you go. As much as it hurts, I can't keep you trapped with me like this. I know you'll be happier with Jungkook. And don't worry about me, I'll try my best to forget you,” Taehyung said, gently removing Jimin's hands from his chest and holding them delicately in his own.

“Is it really that easy for you to forget someone you love, Taehyung?” Jimin's emotions subsided as he calmly questioned Taehyung, though tears still streamed down his face.

Taehyung's voice trembled as he spoke, “I may never forget you for the rest of my life, but I will continue living just as I did before, without you.” Jimin's tears flowed like a waterfall, and Taehyung's heart shattered at the sight. He knew he was the reason for Jimin's pain, but he felt trapped with no other choice.

“You don't have to do this, Taehyung...” Jimin whispered, his voice filled with sorrow.

“Please, my love, don't cry. It hurts me to see you like this. Just go to Jungkook. I'll be okay. Maybe we're not meant to be, not in this lifetime,” Taehyung said while holding Jimin tightly in his arms, hugging him for the last time as much as he could.

“Jimin, I want you to know that I may have found a place in your heart, but I couldn't find as much space as Jungkook did. I don't want to leave you, but I also don't want to be selfish. Now, please go. The longer you stay, the harder it will be for me. Please, just go.” his words poured out, his emotions finally breaking free.

With a tender kiss on Jimin's hand and forehead, Taehyung gently pushed him towards the door. Jimin wiped away his tears and picked up his suitcase.

“If that's what you want then... Goodbye, Taehyung,” Jimin muttered, leaving without looking back. Taehyung collapsed to his knees, overwhelmed with pain.
