I sat on my bed in the small space I've always known as 'my room.' I've lived here my entire life, but now, something was amiss, something terribly wrong. Screams, cries, and pleas filled the air. Desperate to escape, I found the door nearly indestructible. I attempted to burn it down and even used my telekinesis to pull it open. After what felt like an eternity, the door finally gave way. Blood trickled from my nose.

I stood up trying to figure out what was happening.  Walking out of my room I saw the usually bright white walls drenched with blood. Dark red spots everywhere. I couldn't see the floor because of the body's laying on it and what I could see was red, blood streaming from open wounds on the people's limps. I started panicking, I was only 11 back then. I turned around only to see dead body's everywhere I looked.

I got down on my knees closing my eyes searching for survivors, minds that where still going

I got down on my knees closing my eyes searching for survivors, minds that where still going. These people hurt me but they where human too,  weren't they? And all of them couln't go back to their families tonight and their kids, wifes and husbands or parents would break their heart when they heard their loved one died. I didn't want anyone to ever feel that, because I knew how it felt.

What was happening? I heard screams and crying voices. I got up running through the halls making my way to the rainbow room. When the screams suddenly stopped I couldn't help but hope the other kids would at least have survived.
Eleven? I called out. Three? Seven? Twelve? No answer.

Six? I heard a male voice say. Brenner. I didn't answer. Why did he need to survive? I thought.
Let me come back on what I said, some people do deserve to die, and Brenner was without doubt one of them.

But then he was standing right in front of me. Six! He said running towards me. He pulled me into his arms. Did anyone survive? I asked. Eleven? Or three? I asked. He nodded, Eleven lives. my head was spinning, what happened?  brenner didn't answer.

I cried.

Come with me. He pulled me with him. Into the rainbow room. Almost all of the kids I knew and loved layed there, blood trickling down their bodies onto the ground, faces unrecognizable. Is anyone alive? Brenner asked. I closed my eyes focusing on every person in this room. I shook my head. No.

I cried more.

From that day on, I was always alone, I never saw Eleven. Brenner kept trying to teach me how to use my powers in the right way. But he didn't teach it like he should've. He would overuse my powers, he hit me when I couldn't keep going and he rarely ever let me into the rainbow room again. And one day, I had enough of that asshole. I knew that I was powerful enough to get out of there. I just needed to find out where they kept Eleven. And so I used my powers to find Eleven's mind. I searched for months until I found her.

Slowly, a plan was developing in my  head. A masterplan you could say for I had 4 powers and was the most powerfull subject alive. I wasn't proud of my powers, in fact, I didn't like to call them powers. One of them was my whole personality and the rest, the rest where a curse, all three of them. They had done nothing but hurt me. The first one was my second form, I could, whenever I wanted become a cougar. And if you want to know the curses, I had telekinesis, Pyrokinesis and I could read minds. A lot of people would say that was a gift. Well, it wasn't, it meant that you could never, ever be normal.

Months passed, and my plan got better every day. I was already planning when it would happen. I wanted to see what was out there, I never knew the world outside of this lab, I never knew the sound of a bird or how it felt when the sun was shining on your skin.

And all I could think about was the feeling of being loved.

When I escaped I hoped, one day, maybe I could feel it, being loved.

But first I needed to contact Eleven with my mind. I had trained a lot for this. I closed my eyes only focussing on Eleven's mind. Eleven? I thought, focussing on finding her mind, are you there? I suddenly found an energy, not far from where I was. A mind, Eleven's mind.

 Yes. I heard her think.

I'm six I explained to her. And although I thought this through a million times, I didn't really know what to say.

You're alive? Eleven said. She was thinking slowly, like she needed to consider every word that came out of her mind, she talked like a toddler with limited words to use.

I wanna break out of this place.

I wanted to ask you if you want to break out too? This felt really awkward.

 Yes... I heard.

tomorrow I'll be coming for you, okay? yes. she said again.

bye!

Now, I just needed to distract Brenner and the new guards he hired. I thought a lot about the distraction and I figured it would be best if I could set something on fire. I'd set my bed on fire after breaking the door open, running away through the halls towards Eleven.

____________________time skip_________________

The whole west-wing of the building was on fire, I found eleven in a little room on the other side of the building. We where both running towards the doors that would lead us to freedom and give us a sneak peak from the world that Brenner had been hiding from us for our whole lifes.

so, this was the first chapter of this stranger things fanfiction. I have attempted to write one before but it was awfull, so i deleted it. So this is attempt 2.
