We were currently driving towards the school.
"So, let me get this straight—you voluntarily come here every day to be tortured by teachers and the alphabet? And this is considered normal?"
Dustin looked at me, raised an eyebrow and then said: "sort of actually."
"This is literally the weirdest shit ever. How are you still going?"
Dustin smiled: "well, the secret is:
💫detention💫""And what would that be?"
"If you skip school, you have to stay longer a few days later. If you, I don't know, do something bad too."
I was shocked. I just stared blankly at Dustin. Hopper, who was driving the car said: "You're gonna go to school next year."
"SHUT. UP.", I said angrily. "There is no way in hell, that I'm going to school."
Hopper grinned.
"We're almost there.", He said.
"I'm never going to school, if I die tonight." I murmured under my breath.
Dustin raised an eyebrow at me.
"We're not letting you die tonight, kiddo" Hopper said.
I was about to answer when the car stopped. Dustin opened the door, stepped outside and said: "Welcome to school." I looked around, at the building and it's surroundings, it kinda looked like the lab in some, weird, almost creepy way.
I stepped out and sighed, I could smell, the teenagers who spend their days here. It stank, I smelled sweat, sweat, more sweat and some parfum, wich was an awfull combination. Dustin looked at me: "So, what do you think?" He asked.
"How do you go here every single day and still feel the need to ask that?"
Dustin rolled his eyes: "I'm guessing you like it?"
"I can't even breath this air!"
Dustin was opening the back of the car to get the plastic thing that was supposed to present the tank with water back in the lab. He tried to get it out, but it was too heavy. I laughed my ass off when he, after trying for a few minutes, gave up and just rolled the thing out of the jeep.
He glared at me. "You try then miss "I'm much better then you""
I grinned, looked at the blue thingy for a moment and it began to float.
I gave Dustin a smile, turned around so I was facing the school and began walking.
"That's cheating!" I heard Dustin yell from behind me, but I just walked on pretending I couldn't hear him."

When the thing was finally inside the hall, where the teenagers had P.E. I mean, I could've guessed it, the place stank like hell. I felt like I was being gassed.
Dustin and Lucas were trying to get the plastic bath to stand while I did nothing.
"We could use a little help here!" I heard Dustin yell from across the hall.
I stood up, walking toward the two boys, Lucas gave me "the look" again, while Dustin was trying to tell me how I should hold it to get it to stand. I grabbed it, like Dustin told me to do, when Nancy and Mike walk in with a bunch of tubes and, behind them The police chief and Jonathan carrying really heavy looking bags with salt.
As we were putting the water into the bath, Dustin told us that, if it's perfect, an egg should be able to float onto the water. It shouldn't be too cold, and it shouln't be to warm, too many salt was bad as was too much.
It needed to be precise, perfect. All, so I could find two kids, in the upside down. The kid from my dream and Nancy's friend. That's when Joyce wanted to talk to me. Alone. At first, I thought something was wrong. But as we walked toward a different room, she gave a look, I could hear it, I could see it. Pity, She felt bad for me.
She gave me some ductaped glasses, so it would be dark, like back in the tank, in the lab.
She sighed, again pity evident on her face: "You're a very brave girl." "You know that don't you?"
"Everything you're doing for my boy... for Will.... For my family, Thank you."
At this point, I had tears in my eyes, this was why I escaped, to feel love, to feel like someone actually cared.... about me.
The woman took my hands in hers.
"I am gonna be there with you the whole time, and if it ever gets too scary... I-in that place, just let me know, okay?"
I nodded, a few stray tears steaming down my face, I was scared, there was no denying that.
"Ready?" She asked looking me in the eyes.
I forced a smile, "As I'll ever be."
We went back into the hall. I saw the concerned faces of my friends: ""Can we not with the worried looks? You're really- like killing my vibe here."
Dustin gave a, still concerned, grin.
As I was taking my shoes off everyone seemed to be staring at me.
"Seriously, can we pretend this is normal? Just for like, five minutes?" I said but no one seemed to hear me.When I was ready, Joyce gave me the ductaped glasses.
