It was almost time for me to go to Lisa's house, but I was pacing around. Last night I put an ice pack on my face thinking it won't bruise, god I was so wrong. My cheekbone is purple and my eye turned black.
I finally picked up my phone and I called her number, I waited for her to pick up. A few beeps and I thought she won't answer, I was about to hang up when I heard her voice on the other line.
"Ehh Ms Manobal?"
"Jennie?"
"Yeah, it's me I don't think I can come to our appointment today I-"
"What why? Are you okay??" I can hear her shuffle around and I heard keys.
"Yes! Yes! I'm great, it's just Yeri can't make it and I have to stay with Angel."
"You bring her with you when the nanny isn't there right?" She asked me confused, I mentally cussed.
"Yes I know but I just need to take care of her she's not feeling okay so yeah" there was a silent moment and I heard her sighed.
"Okay, you can take a couple of days off if you need them"
"Thank you so much" before she could say anything more I hang-up the phone. I sighed and sat on the couch with my head between my hands, tears were slowly falling down my cheeks. I didn't know why but I felt helpless without him showing up out of the blue.
I felt two small hands, grab my wrists and pulled them away from my face. Angel had a worried look on her little face. I quickly wiped my tears and gave her a smile.
"Momma what's wrong?" She asked worried, I grabbed her little hands and kissed them.
"Nothing is wrong baby, momma is just stressed with work" I said as convincing as I could. I felt her fingers trace the bruises on my face.
"Are you hurt momma?" She whispered with her eyes focused on them. I shook my head no and she sighed.
Lisa's POV
Jennie took a few days off, today is the third day and I haven't heard from here, I called a couple of times but when she didn't pick up, I assumed she was busy with Angel since the kid was sick as she told me. Even though I didn't buy that, I still gave her a little time off.
I was signing some papers in my office to busy myself from thinking of her or anything else. I was buried in paperwork.
Then my phone started to ring, I ignored it at first but it was annoying me. When I picked it up I saw Jennie's name pop, when I tell you I never answered a phone call this fast.
"Hello? Jennie??"
"L-Lisa?" A little voice said,
"Angel?? Where's your mom?" I asked getting my car keys, I can hear glass shattering and screams in the background and I was already running out my office.
"There's a m-man in our h-house" she said between sobs, she was whispering trying not to get this man to find her.
"Angel stay hidden I'm on my way, is your mom okay?" I heard loud thuds followed by Angel's screams.
"Hello?!! Angel?!! Shit" I called Bambam and asked him to send back up to Jennie's apartment. I was driving like a maniac, who can it be?
I left the car door open, and ran up the stairs, the door to her apartment was wide open and the lock was broken it means the guy kicked the door to come inside.
I walked further in the apartment and I was face to a horrifying scene, Jennie was unconscious on the floor, her face and body were beaten.
"Fuck..." I looked around the apartment for Angel but she was nowhere to be found, I quickly picked Jennie up and ran out the door. I met Bambam at the building door with a couple of other guys. He saw Jennie's limp body in my arms and the terrified look in my face. He knew I'm not going to stop until I catch whoever did this.
"Find him, he kidnapped a 2 year old she brown hair baby. He can't be far from here and you find the security cameras" I ordered them, they nodded their heads and went to work.
I can't take her to the hospital because they'll call the police and they won't let me help find this guy and they won't let me hurt him.
I put her in the backseat and stared to drive to my house, I grabbed my phone and called my doctor who's also my cousin.
"Rosé it's an emergency come to my house immediately"
I put Jennie on my bed and started to pace around, a few minutes later Rosé walked in with her bag rushing to the bed.
"Took you long enough to come here" I was upset she took 20min to come here.
"Well I do have a job a the hospital if you remember" she put her gloves on and went to work, she cleaned her cuts and put bandages on her, thank God she didn't need to be stitched anywhere.
"That bruise on her face, it looks like it's been done a couple of days earlier, so is that one on her upper arm" a couple of days ago?? Which means the day she cancelled our appointment, she knows this guy and he must've had an eye on her. Maybe the ex boyfriend?
"She's stable but she needs to rest, who did this to her?" She asked picking her stuff, "Do you think I'll be here if I caugth him?" I said rolling my eyes, I sat on the edge of the bed and held Jennie.
"I'm scared Rosé.. I'm scared all what happened here is my fault and she'll never want to see me again" I sighed playing with her fingers, I took her soft hand and kissed it softly.
"I've never been afraid to lose someone... She means so much to me" She gently rubbed my shoulder,
"Then catch this guy and show her how much you care" I nodded my head, and took off my shoes. I crawled next to Jennie and tried not to wake her. I kissed her head and pulled the cover over both of us. _____________________________________________
