There is no exact right or wrong way to create a book cover. Some people like it simple, and some people like it intricate. But what I've noticed from my graphics design class, is that more people prefer simple book covers to loud, busy, and obnoxious ones.

I would say there are a few guidelines, seeing as though I have made a book cover for an actual book (it was a project I'm not famous or anything haha.)

[1] Make it Relate to Your Story
What is up with all the books on wattpad to have covers that have nothing to do with the story? It insults me and confuses me. At the same time and let me tell you. I am sick of that. If you have a romance book, with a picture of a puppy on the front and your book isn't called Puppy Love, I'm gonna hate you.

[2] Fonts
They really do matter and they're actually hard to get just right with your cover. I'm actually finding it really hard to find a good font, seeing as though I can only use my phone for creating and editing covers right now.

[3] Quality
If you decide to create a book cover, make sure you use a picture that has good quality. As in, you didn't stretch the picture beyond recognition, it's not expanded so much it's incredibly fuzzy/blurry, and you can see what's going on in the picture.

[4] The Club
If you don't like or just can't create book covers, on the actual wattpad website, not the app, there is a club where you can look for designers willing to create a cover for you. Or you can just create a chat that says,'LOOKING FOR COVER,' I mean there's always someone willing to make covers for people. But they don't work for free most of the time. Sometimes they'll require a dedication or just a sentence in your blurb saying,'Cover by ____.' You get the point?
