Something many people on Wattpad really struggle with. This is actually something hard to do because I know that some people really deserve the reads, they just can't get them. I'll try to see if I can help you with this though.
[1] Update, Update, Update
Readers need to have chapters that are available to read. And I know I've said this before, but I'll say it again. Most readers will not click on a book unless it has a certain amount of chapters, which can vary from person to person. If you update once a week, I'm sure your readers will understand and will continue to read your story.[2] Grammar
I'm saying this for all the readers who hate books with incorrect grammar with a burning passion. Those type of readers will stop reading immediately when they see too many errors in spelling, punctuation, and grammar. So I highly suggest either finding an editor or trying your very hardest to fix those errors.[3] Pacing
Your story, does in fact, need pacing. If it goes too fast or too slow, readers will give up on your story quickly. Just try to make sure you don't try to rush things, that's a common issue I see here on Wattpad.[4] Strong Characters
No, I do not mean they need to be buff. I mean they need to have some lead in the story with good character development.[5] A Good Plot
You can't get a bunch of reads if your story doesn't have a good plot, so make sure you're doing your best in writing that story that's been stuck in your mind for days.[6] Remember This
Please remember that your story is not going to have the exact number of reads for each chapter, seriously, no matter what, the reads will decrease as your story continues.[7] Don't Demand Votes
No matter how you want to look at it, demanding votes is not going to help you out. Kindly remind the readers to vote, and there's a greater chance they will.
