So... I've thought about doing the #JustWriteIt Challenge, but I've never taken any action into actually doing the pledge. So we're about to go on this journey together, ok? But before we get started, here's a few tips from someone (and a few from myself) who's actually done this challenge... but instead it was 50,000 words (NaNoWriMo) instead of 10,000... that sounds kinda horrifying doesn't it.
~ Silence your inner editor
~ Plan and research before hand, that way you don't waste time on things like that
~ Don't force methods that don't work for you
~ Do what it takes to make it seem real
~ Only end your writing session when you know what happens next
~ Do the math for the deadline (how many words will it take to finish? how many words should be written in a day or a week?)
~ Know that it definitely won't be your final draft, this is so that you can complete the book, then edit
~ Especially if you're planning on publishing your book
~ Read it out loud to make sure that is makes sense
Feel free to comment more tips if I missed any! (I probably missed a lot.)
