Rewind back to 6x07, and let's see how Maya learns a lesson if she doesn't take a hard fall on treadmill.
PS:Italics is the character's mind, their POV. Sometimes is Maya's POV, sometimes is Carina's.

"No! Bishop, your ankle is wrecked. You can't go in there."
Again.
Here comes again.
Everyone in my life keeps telling me what I should do, what I can do and what I'm supposed to do, but not trust me that I can take care of myself.
I won a gold medal in the 10,000 meter sprint on a fucking sprained ankle! Fucking gold medal!
And now this sexism white dude tries to suspend me from my job.
My ankle just fine. I can easily push the pain through.
"My ankle is fine." Maya replied, her eyes reflecting determination.
"It's an order, lieutenant!"
Again.
Pulling rank.
Maya stops taking out her SCBA and rolls her eyes reluctantly.
Another order comes in.
"Swap with Montgomery. You're on aid car with Warren. Check the vital of victims and get checked."
No matter how angry and frustrated Maya is, she has to step down and change with Travis to aid car.
The only good thing to be on aid car is that she gets some free time from seeing Beckett's disgusting face or hearing his crap.
Pretty soon that they arrived the ER bay of Grey-Sloan, Maya jumps out of the car and pulling out the gurney.
And Miranda Bailey is already there with other surgeons.
"Good, you're finally here." Bailey says.
Gosh...I have to get my ankle checked.
Not Miranda checks me up. She's gonna talk my ears off.
And Carina might be all over me worrying about my ankle and bugs me around with fucking therapy.
"Bailey, we're fine. We just need to wait for overhaul." Maya tries to convince Miranda Bailey.
"Thank god you and the kids are fine." Miranda motioned them towards one of room.
"It's an eventful evening." After taking Meredith's kids enter the room, couple interns and on call trauma surgeon comes to check them.
