"Hello?" Carina picks up a phone call from Andy, her wife's best friend and colleagues.

"Hi, Carina. Sorry to call you in this situation. I know that you and Maya are in a delicate place, but I don't know what I can do anymore." Andy's voice sounds helpless.

"What's wrong? Is everything OK?" Carina asks.

"Maya's not OK. We lost victims at a scene. She's been punching sandbag at the gym for hours. She wouldn't listen to anyone. I think you might be the only one she's willing to talk to." Andy says. "Can you come over after shift? To talk to her?"

It's been couple days after visiting station with Maya that day.

They text every day since then.

Nothing serious or flirty. Just some short texts asking about each other's day or arrangement about dinner.

So she knew that it's Maya's first day back on the scene.

"My shift is off in an hour. I'll come over later." Carina says and ends the call.

Punching sandbag for hours?

What happened at the scene?

What happened to her?

-------

"Come in."

Carina opens the door of Captain's office afterwards. "Hey, Andy."

"Carina! Thank you for coming." Andy quickly stands up to welcome her.

"What happened at the scene?" Carina asks.

"Maya was on the rescue with Robert. The father asked them to save the kids first. But they took the parents out first cause they're closer to the entrance. And when they went back for the kids. They had inhaled too much smoke and no pulse already. The parents were devastated and blamed them for not saving the kids first." Andy explains.

"She went straight to the gym after we were back. It's 5 hours ago. She didn't had dinner or rest. I don't want to pull rank on her. She wouldn't like that."

"It's her first day back to the scene. She was so excited about it." Carina sighs. "Do you think that she'd listen to me? You're her best friend."

"You're the last hope, Carina. I don't know who can make her talk if you couldn't get her to talk." Andy says.

Carina thinks for a moment and hesitantly speaks up.

"...Can I ask you something first? I've been wanted to talk to you, but... we're here already, so..." Carina rolls her eyes playfully and says.

"Sure. What it is?" Andy asks in confused. What Carina wanna know before talking to Maya?

"How's Maya's mental health? Is her coping mechanism the reason Maya and I fought a lot recently?" Carina asks.

"Umm...well..." Andy is surprised by the question. She's not sure what to say cause it's between the wives. "Didn't Maya tell you why you fight? She said that she told you the whole truth. I thought you knew already."

"She said a lot and I'm just wanna make sure from different perspective. So I'd know what I'm going to deal with." Carina sighs again, "Can you tell me?"

"She's not happy that you asked her to find a therapist to get help. And you disagreed her way of dealing with her pain." Andy breathes out and puts on a helpless smile.
