"What now?"

After Maya dropping her words, Gabriella stays silence for a few minutes observing her friend's look carefully before opens up again.

"What what now?" Carina sighs and combs her hair with her hand, avoiding eye contact with Gabriella.

Gabriella asks carefully, "Do you want the baby?" 

Not this question again.

"I don't know, Gabri. I don't know!"  Carina raises her voice slightly at the end. 

She's losing her patience. 

Since she woke up, her world has been in a constant state of mess.

And everyone around her, for some unknown reason, keep urging her.

They pay no attention to what Carina wants.

And now she knows why.

The baby.

They concern about the baby inside her belly more than their concern about her.

They have already moved on, but I haven't.

Gabriella stays silent for a few minutes. She's giving her friend some time to process everything. It's too much for Carina right now, but her impatient temperament only shuts her up for a few minutes.

"Why did you push Maya away?" Gabriella asks directly.

Push her away?

I didn't pu...

"What do you mean?" Carina asks with furrowed brows.

Gabriella gives her a knowing look. After all, she had known Carina for a long time. She knows her too well.

"Come on, tesoro. I know you. You're polite to everyone, but you looked at Maya like she did something wrong."

I gave her that look? 

"Did she?" Carina asks. She has no idea why she'd ask Gabriella if Maya did something wrong, but that's the first thing coming out from her mouth.

Gabriella shrugs at the question, "I don't know. I wouldn't know if you didn't tell me she did something wrong. I heard her from you." 

She raises an brow and thinks of something,  "You only told me once that she did something terrible, but you forgave her after her sincere apology. And that something is not my place to say. You should ask her." she raises her fingers to air-quot the specific word.

And she lets out a chuckle when she recalls how annoyed Maya looked back then, 

"I did get upset with Maya because of something and teased her when we just met. That's another story, a funny one. I'll tell you later."

Carina was left speechless by Gabriella's response. She basically didn't answer anything.
