We were happy and you created chaos.
I can't live like that.
I want to follow my head to protect myself and the baby.
I don't want me and another life to get hurt.
You need to get help.
Eyes on me, bella. Eyes on me.
No eyes forward, eyes on me.
I hope that you can be honest with me.
You should leave me the choice, instead of making decisions for me.
Carina's words and their previous arguments flash continuously in Maya's mind.
Mixed with the scene of Chief Ross rejected to give her captaincy back, Carina's distant attitude and disapproving gaze, and asking Maya to tell her the truth.
Our love story is beautiful. I don't want to lose us.
And then her mind drifts to the memory of Carina in sexy lingerie, recreating their first night together, telling her that she doesn't want to lose them.
"I don't want to lose us, either..." Maya stops punching the sandbag, breathing heavily as she spoke.
"What did you say?" Andy peeks out from behind the sandbag and asks.
Maya slump down on the floor, catching her breath, and sighs, "I don't want to lose Carina, Andy. But I feel the distance between us growing more and more despite she has amnesia or not."
Andy sits next to Maya, being there with her. "Fight for her, Maya. Fight for your family. You're going to be a mom." she smiles, expecting to welcome another firehouse baby.
Maya says impatiently, "I know that I need to fight for her, but how?! I don't know how to get closer to her. She thinks that I'll hurt her and our baby!"
Andy sighs and thinks about what to do, helping her friend to find a solution.
"...Be honest with her. She asked for the truth, didn't she? I know you're not proud of what you did, but you have to open your heart to let her in."
She raises an eyebrow and says in a hopeful tone, "And then she would probably let you in."
The truth...
Maya can't help but thinks of the night at the rooftop. Carina didn't react well when she found out the truth. "What if she thinks that I'm a monster and she wants divorce?"
"...If that's her decision, you can only respect her. But I hope not." Andy replies.
Maya fell silent for a moment before speaking up again.
"She insisted that I have mental health problem."
"I'm not a doctor, Maya. But your coping mechanisms are quite unusual." Andy tries to respond in joking way, not want to sound judgy or criticizing. "I've heard drinking, smoking, drug-using, eating, shopping, but not much people deal with their problem with running."
"It helps!" Maya retorts.
"Really?" Andy raises her eyebrows and asks gently. "What problem does it help? Which one? Get your wife pregnant or her memory back?"
What the hell?!
"You said you have my back!" Maya gets annoyed by Andy's confrontation , standing up and about to leave.
