"Just letting you know that I'm in a hotel room now." Carina texts.

"I made an appointment with Diane Lewis, the therapist of SFD. I choose you."

Maya stares at the words she typed, hesitating to hit the send button.

It's just an appointment, maybe she'll see it as nothing.

I should tell her later. At least wait until first session.

Maya deletes the draft and types in,

"I'm sorry for causing you so much pain. I love you and our baby girl. Say good night to her for me, will you? Sleep well."

"I'll tell her. Good night, Maya." Carina texts her back.

Maya puts down her phone and stares at the ceiling in the guest room, her mind automatically repeats Carina sitting on the floor and crying.

An immense sadness and lost feeling piled up in her heart, worse than chief Ross rejected to regain her job after their first unofficial conversation at the barn.

Carina was here with me, holding me.

But now she's not.

The pain hovering over her heart and lingering in her mind is gathering, more and more, making her gets off the bed and puts on her shoes.

She changes into her sport bra and takes out her tread mill in the living room.

Meditation is not working for her right now. Meditation can't get her pain away.

Running is the only way to get off my pain.

"Hello, Maya." Diane says when the blonde firefighter sitting down on the chair. "I was surprised when I got your text."

"Yeah, me too." Maya says.

"Still not a fan of me like everyone else. I see." Diane notices a slight of irritation in Maya's tone. "What can I do for you then?"

"My wife said that I have mental health issue and forced me to get help." Maya says and her irritation becomes more obvious.

"What makes her feel that you have mental health issue?" Diane asks.

"I don't know. I don't think I'm unstable." the blonde firefighter turns her head slightly, glancing to the side with a huff.

"She thinks you're unstable?" Diane raises an brow.

"That's why I'm here." Maya says in an irony tone.

"How long have you been arguing with your mental health?" Diane continues.

"18 weeks."

"And how many argument did you two have for 18 weeks?"

The question makes Maya frown at Diane. "I'm not counting them."

"You're clearly upset with your wife saying that you have mental health issue, which you think you don't have any. I bet you two have a lot of arguments because of it." Diane says and Maya doesn't reply. It's not rocket science, Diane doesn't need to hear her confirm.
