"He's simply an...anomaly, I'm trying to figure out just what makes him tick; what created him." The Doctor spoke, smile sickeningly wide.
"I see...I myself have an interest in alchemy and the beings it can create." Albedo said, observing the unconscious man before him. "Do you mind if I can figure out what was used to create him?"
"What do I get in return, dear Chief Alchemist?"
"The answers to your questions, you did mention that you've been experimenting on this...man for years yet you are no closer to answers than you were at the beginning."
The harbinger frowned at the geo user's words, finding his completely neutral expression to be annoying.
"I'll return within a month, I sincerely hope you have the answers I seek." Dottore frowned.
Albedo gave a nod as he waved the taller man off, his eyes trailing towards the unconscious being laying on the floor in his lab.
He walked over and lifted him onto a clear table, not wanting his guest to be on the ground.
The puppet stirred once rested down, his eyes opening to the view of the cave's roof.
"What?!" He sat up, almost jumping out of his skin when he looked to his side.
There stood the alchemist, his large eyes unreadable as he stared at the now awake man before him.
"Hello, my name is Albedo. I'm the Chief Alchemist of the Knights of Favonius." He introduced, his tone even.
"Explain to me why I'm in Mondstadt." The Balladeer responded.
"A colleague of yours brought you here; he said he simply wanted me to uncover your secrets, 'what makes you tick' as he said." The geo user explained.
"Well, that is neither of your business."
Albedo pondered over the current predicament, hoping to find a way to get his subject to trust him.
"You're not human, are you?" He said suddenly.
"Why do you care?"
"I am the same. I'm a being created through alchemy, a homunculus if you will." The alchemist watched for a reaction before he continued. "I'm hoping to understand others like me where I can. I don't necessarily care for giving The Doctor the results he seeks."
The puppet hummed, continuing to watch the chalk prince.
He had nothing to say to the man, so he chose to keep his mouth shut.
Days turned to weeks, yet the infamous Balladeer did not speak a word and The Chief Alchemist of The Knights of Favonius was no closer to completing his task.
Then the dreaded day came, Dottore had returned for answers and was rather looking forward to them.
"My apologies, Doctor. Despite me employing everything I know about alchemy, I was unable to find your answer. My hypothesis is that it isn't necessarily alchemy that created him." Albedo said, about to share the in depth theory he had been trying to elaborate once his knowledge couldn't be used.
"I do not care for your theories, I simply sought answers to the questions I had." The harbinger interrupted. "It seems that not even Mondstadt's famed Kreideprinz could decode The Balladeer."
"I'm truly sorry to not have met your expectations."
Scara watched from his seat on the floor, tired eyes full of animosity for his superior.
"Very well, I shall lead you to work on that theory. His wellbeing is no longer my responsibility."
"What?! Dottore you have to take me back to Snezhnaya, I have a job to do!" The shorter man shot up, ready to lunge at his fellow harbinger.
