Chapter 5 Gifts!

After breakfast , I suggested walking with Priest Blossom to her place... So , I'm going through the  village in my t-shirt and shorts.

I , see the other females gathered in the center of the village. The , other six plus the , older three females here.. Looking , at the size of this village I thought " No , wonder, they're are so many!"

Female, you are new here! " Yes , I am! I am the chosen guardian!"
They laughed at me.. You , were not at the ceremony! " I , was I sat on the end! I'm , mate to Max!"
Hmph , what strange furs!

" Well , these are from where I came from!"  Max , came to my side after talking with his friend.
How , is it a strange beast, becomes guardian?  " I , inherited the position! Also , protect this .. Hidden Place in that world too!"

That is just a legend! " Do , you believe your Beast God would lie?"
No female! " Then it must be true! Just , give me a chance to be your friend and help!" That , has been said for a very long time and no one ever came!

" Beast God ,wants you to believe in him! Even , if you don't see him with these eyes!"  What is your name? " Jessica!"  How , can we have enough meat through the rainy season?

" We , need to find clay dirt and rocks to make a smoker! And , salt helps in the process!"  But , how will that help? A male asked. " We , can make jerky , it preserves  the meat! And , also we should start trying to dehydrate fruits!

What is Clay? " The red color dirt ! If , it gets wet then dry it packs in hard so it helps to seal around the rocks ! " I , drew one in the dirt describing it. Several , of the males who I , think are the other females went off to gather supplies.

I , walked along with Blossom , Max right  at my side... Jester! .. Mother! He looks at me curiously... " I wanted to say hello and , thank you for my first ever flight the other day!"

A , hint of a smile hid behind his sadness... It's , no trouble Jessica!
Two , young cubs ran out only looking about five years old , at least in human numbers... " Hello , little cubs what are your names? I'm Jessica!"

They , shy hiding behind their father.. " Hey we can be friends! Why , don't I let you meet my nieces , so you can all play at my house?" What's a niece? I giggled... " My , brothers cubs but we call them kids , children , or babies where I come from!"

Don't be mean to my sister! " I , have no intention of it! What , happened to your arm?"  The , other females beat him! " Why , did they do this to you?"  They , said I'm , a motherless cub and don't deserve food!

" Not , anymore they will not! I'll , stand up for you little cub! And , another thing... Don't, you ever believe you don't deserve something because ,your mother is gone !"

But , they will be mean to father! "You , let me talk to him and don't worry about that okay!" Jessica! I , looked up at Jester... Might, you consider me as your male? " Jester , if you truly like me yes! But , you have cubs and they should be more comfortable, with this situation first don't you think?" He's , my father you can't take him away!

" Aww , I wasn't taking him away...I , can't take her place but I can love you!" No!  The , little female protested.... Nara , you will be nice to the guardian! Jester , doesn't look very old but this is Beastworld.

Can I court you? "Yes!" No father! I ,  pulled two peppermint from my pocket " Try , these! It's peppermint!" I , unwrapped them for the two. No , you just want me to get sick!

I , put one in my mouth getting another from my pocket " Would , I eats something bad?" I , wrapped the other candy up. " Make ,sure they don't try to eat the wrapper!"
He smiled a little.

We , left back to the house Max lifted me on his shoulder.
I , ran my fingers through his hair brushing his ears gently.. Mmm , Jessica I'm sensitive there! I grinned. He squeezed my thigh... As , we get there the horse beast from before has brought gifts , and Roscoe too.
