Chapter 7 So Sweet

"Yes , what happened?" Before , he went to the ceremony he courted our female and she promised to accept him! " Max , tell me your side!" Jessica , we did court and she did say that but during the ceremony... I , didn't think I would feel that pull so I changed my mind about it! " So , you were chosen to take part too?" Yes!

" Beast God , required me to participate in that ceremony! So , what would you like as compensation? We already mated!"
Two life stones! I , went inside and got two of them " Will , this settle things?" I dropped them in her male hand. He , nodded and they left.

I took a deep breath " Well , hopefully I'll be dealing more ,with food and other problems!" Jessica , I'm I I didn't please forgive me! "Max it's okay now!" I kissed his lips.

" Now , what are you both cooking?" Both ,colossal and grazer beast meat! " We , should build a smoker here and start that tomorrow.... And , we should dig a cellar that , we can keep food cool in and make a door on top!"

We , will start that then! Max ,said while skewering meats. Then Roscoe... Jessica, did you mean to accept Jester? " Yes , if he can truly be happy! And , of course his cubs would be treated as if they are mine , even if they aren't accepting of me at first!"

I , think I should tell you what happened to Rya! I , sat there on the rock... Jester, was naturally protective of her but... one , day group of males were fighting over wanting her as mate. So , instead of getting in a brawl he left with their cubs back to the hut!

Thinking , it was over they went to sleep but later ... those two challenged him and Rya , other  mate!  the whole thing was a set up for them kill him and , overpower the other to take her! She ,got killed trying to save her mates in a fight!

" I , have to admire her heart! And , I'm sure Jester has blamed himself but it's not his fault!"  Yes , but he may not listen, to you if something happens! I took a deep breath " Everyone deserves a second chance! And , I see how hard those cubs have had it.. they , thought I would poison them !"

Max , turned me to him... I , know it isn't a good thing but it does happen in winter, because families have to choose who can eat! " In , this fertile land with a bit of hard work we can farm fruits , vegetables , and preserve meat too!  That's , why it's important we show the village and , then we can help the others!"

We , sat down to eat my first taste of colossal " Mmm it's juicy!"  I then ate some of the grazer meat "Yummy!" Roscoe , grinned and licks the juice from my lips.
" The , horse Ran he is a trader and cub of the leader.. so , what do you two think?"

He , could be helpful in trades , and negotiating!  Roscoe , said while looking in thought. .. Jessica , do you like the male? " So , far yes and he is tetra marked but ... I ,don't want my mates fighting! I , know training , and settling disagreements are necessary but , no killing or bullying!" Max looks down ... He is stronger than me!

" You , are still my first! And ,both of you were at the ceremony , he came up after when Roscoe did !" I know pretty! I , ate some more of my meat.. and sat in his lap " Max!" He ,looks up I lick his lips and kissed him..

The three of us slept all night. The , next morning I , awoke warm in his embrace.. I , kissed his muzzle my beautiful black wolf. "I love you Max!" He , shifted tracing my back with his claws.. I , love you too! He smiled and kissed my lips.

I , went to go pee then wash my hands and , face in the hot spring..
I walked outside to see Jester with gifts and his cubs... Max , didn't say anything as I went over " Good morning cubs! Do , you want to have a meal with us? Roscoe, is hunting now!"

They , shrugged their shoulders "Jester what is this?" I , asked with a smile. Fruits ,the cubs like they picked them for you! And , this meat I hunted! " Aww , thank you all so sweet!"
