It isn't the happiest day as I write this. My hand is shaking from the strain, but it is nothing I can't deal with. I had a long time ago decided to finish this journal, so I must keep writing while my memory is fresh.
I must finish this and preserve these memories, just as I had planned.

I breathe in deeply as I relive the past.

After the fight with the cultivators of the HuoLong sect, I already knew that the effort wasn't going to serve in the way I had wanted to. My main wish was to get rid of my enemies and leave their bodies in the way, so whoever was to find them would have thought that it was a theft by a random mercenary or some group. That way, the people of the city would not have gotten involved.
I drew a sigil of some of our enemies onto the ground as a signature, just in case they wanted to look into it. That way, they were also going to rid us of them. We couldn't always take care of the bandits, after all.
It was an eye for an eye.
I couldn't have risked staying in the same place, in case the games were ongoing. My presence wasn't something I'd want to brag with since I was seen as nothing but an expelled, wandering nobody.
I was already close enough to walk on my own if my surroundings were anything to go by.
The road was small and unkept, leading to one of the highest mountains I have ever seen. It was reaching the clouds and above, shadowing over my mere, human existence.
I felt really small in comparison, if I had to be honest. Even so, everything looked so free- so alive. It was something I had wanted to feel until my last of days, yet now it didn't make me feel anything special. I was nothing but a being walking on some forgotten land.
Breathing the fresh air in, I took out a handkerchief to wipe my bloody sword, when I heard the horse coming over to me. It had been a long time since I had pet a one, but seeing how it pushed its head onto my shoulder I had no choice but to touch it's black, silky hair.
I was not going to leave it alone, that much I was aware of.

I made sure to take the money with me and hopped onto the horse, ready to continue my journey and leaving the unconscious trainees on the ground, as a simple reminder and warning from the thieves.  Or, I hoped that they were unconscious and trainees, for they really lacked any speck of elegance.
My job had been done and I was close enough to my destination. I didn't let my hopes get too high, but I was restless. Were you there? Was I going to see you in the next few days?
Really, my personality was nothing more but the thought of you.
I was not even an artist anymore, I wasn't in the mood to joke around or to work on anything.
All that I knew was my goal of taking you back home.
Lost in thoughts, I got on the bridge ahead. I could finally see the path to the mountain more clearly. Even though the one I had been on was unkept, this one looked as new.
Right under the bridge there was a big river, water flowing down, taking away the silence of nature.
I had to tread carefully. I knew that some of the people were going to sense my energy, but they wouldn't be foolish enough to tell further. Everyone must focus on the matter at hand. Yet, even so, regardless of the path I took I felt the presence of other people near. It was only a matter of time until I was to meet someone.

"Would you look at that," said a familiar voice from the Jiang sect.
I was already looking their way, seeing that the person didn't pose any treat.

"A good day to you as well, brother," I got off the horse, face to face with Jiang Fei and a little, red cheeked kid whose face I didn't recognize.

"What brings you here? I haven't heard of you in a very long time, and coming right where the sect is..."

"I know. Why I am here has nothing to do with the Jiang sect, I assure you," I paused, "What are you doing here?"

My brother was quite different than I remembered him- he seemed proper and stern. He didn't look like the free spirited man I once knew anymore.

"Isn't this the two faced man?!" Said the kid in a loud voice. "I knew it was you."
She jumped as if she was happy to see me, even though I knew that she was probably bored out of her mind. An intriguing person was always a good topic of discussion.
