Landos pov
Walking into the paddock hand in hand with Stella felt strange, dating wasn't really my thing, and it added an unusual twist to my usual routine.
I haven't dated in a while, but when I see Stella in the paddock, I feel like faking a relationship. I know there are other solutions for my problem, but for some reason, I picked faking it with Stella.
She's attractive, no denying that, but she tends to be annoying and talkative with her attitude. I'm not one to judge, I'm sure she finds me annoying too.
Now that we've publicly declared things official, cameras seem to follow us everywhere. We just have to ignore them, keep walking, and make it to the damn hospitality without letting the attention bother us.
"Are you going to talk to Charles today?" I whisper in her ear, feeling her tense up as my mouth hovers over it.
"No," she mumbles. Charles wasn't exactly supportive of her dating me. He texted me before I left for Saudi, advising me not to hurt her – as if I ever would. This girl has a fragile heart, and I know any misstep on my part could send her into a deep hole.
"Why not? We're about to pass the Ferrari hospitality," I whisper again. She shakes her head. "I'll do it tomorrow. I'm just not prepared. He can come up to me when he wants," she says, and I simply nod, choosing not to force the situation.
"Wow. Welcome the new couple," I hear an Australian accent next to us as we approach the hospitality.
My initial thought was Oscar, but when I turned my head, it was Daniel. Of course, it had to be him.
"Never knew you had the hots for a Leclerc," he winks at me, and I shoot him a glare. Stella, of course, lets out a giggle.
"It's because the Leclerc family is amazing," she smirks at both of us, and I shake my head. "You wish," I grumble.
"But you were the one begging for me. So I do think I'm pretty amazing," she winks at me. I nudge her, annoyed by her teasing.
"Jeez, Lando. You picked up a feisty girl," Daniel jokes. I shoot him another glare, and he gets the memo, quickly rushing off. If he kept talking, I might have crashed into him on purpose during our race.
"Stop being so annoying, Stella," I mumble, and she rolls her eyes. If we want this to work, she has to cut out the fucking attitude.
"Stop being a prick," she says, detaching our hands as we walk into the McLaren hospitality.
"I'm not being a fucking prick," I complain. I don't like being called things.
"Literal stuff a chair up your ass," she rolls her eyes and walks off, going right up to Oscar.
Why Oscar? Why is he the one who always pleases her, while anything I do seems to just annoy her?
"Car in 5," Zak says as he walks past me while I'm looking at Oscar and Stella laughing.
"Got it," I murmur. I get sick of their giggles. There's no reason to be that loud. I walk up to them, and they both go silent.
I move my hand to Stella's lower back and trace small circles with my thumb. I feel her tense at my touch.
"Hi, baby," I mumble, and she smiles up at me. "Hi," she whispers quietly. I smile back, then look at Oscar, who has a look of disgust on his face.
"Ew. A little less PDA, please. I didn't sign up for a front-row seat," he complains, and I roll my eyes.
"Car now," Zak walks past us. I thought we were supposed to go in five?
"Thank you, Zak, you just saved me from these two," Oscar chuckles, and I nudge him, following along.
