Rift was the last to fall asleep of the group. Even though he had a bed booked for him, he slept on the floor where Ava also was huddled beside him.

Mason slept in his daily clothes while Lexus slept in just his shorts.
Altair hugged her pillow against her head.

Ava already gave her bad vibes. She had tried to make her fight her earlier and kept trying to suplex her.

Her snoring sounded like a boar. Rift's was shockingly silent.

"Never gonna take sleeping for granted again." She said in an irritated tone

Sleep did come, but when it did...

She was walking alone by herself.

It was foggy all over, making her quickly realize.

"Momma! Dada!"

A young Altair ran past her.

She was so young back then that she had all sorts of fun memories.

She ran up to a woman made of water. She took the appearance of a human. Beside her was of a man made of fire who was the same.

A couple were curious about the girl who ran up to them.

Altair placed her hands on her chest in her sleep.

"Please don't go...I wanna keep smiling."

A tear ran down her face.

Rift dreamed of a veggie meat platter while Ava dreamed about nothing but fighting, even in sleep. She was making punching motions.

Lexus dreamt of his favorite thing - masculine girls flirting with him.

Mason, though, was having a difficult dream.

He walked alone through a stone road by himself.

"Where am I?"

It was hazy and the air itself made his head hurt.

"Not far."

Turning around, he saw someone.

It was a shadow of a man with a spikey hairdo.

"But he's near."
Looking to the left, he saw the shadow of a little girl.

"But of course, he won't remember."

Now straight behind him was a shadow of a woman with curly hair.

Roses surrounded her. Volts surrounded the man and strange energy filled the little girl's shadow.

Just then a light shined above followed by flame.

"You won't rejoin my master will won't allow it!"

Flame hit the ground creating a massive explosion.

Closing his eyes, he took a step back.

"M...son."

A voice called to him, making him uncomfortable.

"Join me..."

He stepped away from the voice, still with his eyes shut.

"Join..."

Mason shook his head as he kept walking.

"Answer me!!!" the voice boomed.

Mason stopped and opened his eyes.

"No."

When he awoke, he felt very unrested.

Getting up, it was early sunrise.

Everyone was here except Altair. He eyed a sleeping Lexus in his bed.

Getting up, he walked out, seeing one of the many bata beasts patrolling the camp.

He eyed Mason as he stepped out down towards the river.

Altair was there at the base of the water. She appeared to be reaching out to it.

"..." She was breathing a little rapidly.

"Are you okay?"
She jumped and turned around and breathed in relief noticing it was Mason.

"Oh, hey. Sorry, you just startled me."

Mason noticed she had one hand behind her back, but he didn't say anything.

"What are you doing down here?"

"Oh, you know. I was just filling my canteen."
She pulled out a canteen that had holes in it patched but done poorly.

"Okay, I'm gonna go get some leftovers from the potluck last night. There should be some still heated up."

She nodded and then told him she'd be there in a bit.

"..."

After he left, she pulled out her hidden hand and looked at it.

"Why must I live with guilt?"

Focusing by staring at her hand, it shifted back to normal and she headed back to the settlement camp.

Rift and Ava were doing workouts together with Lexus tagging along.

He sat on Ava's back, acting as a weight while Ava did push ups.

Mason ate from a wood bowl. The potluck's soup was very gooey but overall super tasty.

Opening the map on his echo device, they were on the right route. It just took the matter of getting there and looking at where they had to go. They definitely were in for a rough trek.
