Mason awoke in a dark place.
Getting up, his head felt funny.
Immediately realizing, he searched around for Altair.
"Altair! Altair where are you?"
No response...
Getting up, he saw the pendant not far away on the floor.
He reached towards it carefully, seeing what it had done moments ago.
Thankfully, nothing happened, but the pendant still glowed.
Getting up, he saw a dark doorway with some lit crystal lamps that gave some, but not a lot, of light.
Walking down a long hall, it was darker with each step.
He pulled out his echo device to use the hologram as a light.
Going further he came upon a room.
It looked like a cathedral without the many benches going down towards the altar.
Stained glass windows appeared on the front and on the sides.
They were depicting Bata beasts drawing power from their crystals and humans using echo blade crystals to fight in battles against and with Bata beasts.
"Woah, I've never seen a story like this."
He remembered reading history books of Echostar's past.
Suddenly he stepped on something that moved his foot down.
It was some sort of pressure plate. After a couple seconds, a hole opened up on the floor and three statues rose out of it.
Approaching each one, he found something different about that and they looked freshly made.
A girl with a mischievous look in her eyes, but had a caring smile.
A fox that had a strange red pattern around his eyes. He didn't look to be a fox Bata beast.
Last was a girl with long hair. She had a determined and firm expression and had grace in her step she looked similar to the girl he saw in his dream.
The other statues were looking up, but this one was looking down, almost like it was looking at him.
Minus the fox, they felt familiar to him, almost like he had known them their entire lives.
A light shined through a stained glass from the altar. Looking at that stained glass, it was much different than the others.
"That's!" Mason said in shock.
A tall blue haired man dressed in a fancy divine robe and long celestial wings held a sword with several gears on it, holding an amulet like the one Mason had. The blade also was the same way as the Chrono Shiftblade.
The amulet started to make a noise like a hum.
Pulling out the amulet, he held it against the light to see if it would get brighter. Although he did this, he did it carefully.
All of a sudden, the amulet shot out a blast of light before shooting upwards, knocking Mason down.
A pink light surrounded the room. Mason shielded his eyes.
After what seemed like a minute, he felt his body rise automatically. Without him having any control, he pulled out the blade and aimed it skyward.
A click noise rang out, making the light vanish.
Mason felt drained. He looked up straight above his head. He saw a medallion. Out of curiosity, he grabbed it.
Then as quick as a heartbeat, a name engraved in his brain.
"Time medallion reconnected."
Mason then dropped both the blade and the medallion and passed out.
"Mace...son...ma...on," a voice called out.
"Mason!"
He awoke beside Altair.
"You ok!?"
He blinked.
It was now morning and the tower was in its normal state.
"Yeah, just dozed off."
She helped him up.
"Kinda silly to sleep out here. Come on, let's go get breakfast."
She ran inside with Mason following.
But before entering through the doorway, he reached into his pocket to find something that horrified him.
It was the clock like medallion.
"So it wasn't a dream..."
One other thing bothered him when he had awoken was that Altair's eyes were wet and her nose was runny.
Had she been crying?
