Chapter 4: Death is Coming

Underneath the Pit and the Pendulum, San Diego

We return to the present to see the desperate Siren who is about to be cut in half and if she doesn't answer Poe's question then she will suffer the same fate as her sisters and it's not pleasant. Poe activate the green button which cause the Pendulum to start swinging, but slowly going down.

Poe: "Now, tell me about your base of operation in Earth?"

Beta 6: "I'm not going to say anything."

Poe(sigh): "Not an answer."

Poe switch the level which cause the Pendulum to lower faster while it's swinging.

Poe: "Think Siren. Your life depends on that answer."

Beta 6(scare): "OKAY! IT'S IN CENTER SECTOR OF ATLANTIC! THAT IS WHERE OUR MAIN BASE OF OPERATION IS AT!"

Poe stop the Pendulum from swinging and if she haven't answer that question than it's game over for her because the Pendulum is barely touching her front skin, but she can feel the coldness of the Pendulum. Poe press the red button which reset the Pendulum back to it's normal position for another torture.

Poe: "Thank you for the answer."

Beta 6(relieve): "Can I go now?"

Her restrain has been release, but the door that leads to the exit is still block which she is confuse until Poe remove his gloves from his hand that is surround by dark aura which is sending shivers down Beta 6's spines. She try her best to find an exit; however there is only one route which is her portal so she try to summon the portal, but nothing.

Beta 6(shock): "What?"

Poe: "We're deep underground and my ship is equip with a jamming device that prevents Sirens from escaping through their portals. I give you 5 minutes of an head start of escaping from me, but let you know that if I touch you with this hand than you'll become nothing but bones."

Poe press a button to reveal a hidden door and a bridge has appear so she decide to not waste anytime and just leave while the time is ticking. She can see Poe not moving and enter the chamber which is a maze of catacombs just like the ones she enter when she was following Poe, but it's not Poe the one who is going to do the hunt.

Beta 6: "Why did he give me extra time to escape?"

Beta 6 question of why Poe give her a 5 minutes, but she decide to leave alone and head out. While Beta 6 is escaping from Poe; we can see him reading a book called Masque of the Red Death by Edgar Allan Poe about Death coming for the prince who makes a mockery at the ill-ridden villagers, but now he's going to put that to good use against Beta 6 which is Beta 6 been chased by Death. Poe look at his watch and see that 5 minutes is up which he walk slowly through the catacombs.

Time Skip
Catacombs, ???

Beta 6 keeps on running through the hallway of the catacombs and see no exit in sight and she can her Poe's footsteps getting closer and closer as if he was able to catch up despite been 5 minutes of ahead start.

Beta 6(shock): "How? I thought I have enough to time to increase distance from him, but somehow he's getting closer. What's going on here?"

Beta 6 continues to run until she can see the door that has the Raven symbol on it.

Beta 6(happy): "That's the exit."

She open the door to reveal that she is back at the Pit where she has started from, but it was on the other side overlooking at the torture chamber. She was shock that she's back where she come from and fell into her leg.

Beta 6(scare): "Did I just went around in circle? Why? I thought I can escape, but I can't."

???: "That's because this is your hell."

She turn around to see Poe walking toward her and there's no escape from his grasp now that she's corner.

Beta 6(scare): "What do you mean?"

Poe: "Everyone has their own style of heaven and hell. This is your hell Siren."

Beta 6(scare): "Please let me go and I promise that I don't tell the Empress about the wisdom cube."

Poe: "Hard to talk with the Empress if you're already dead in the beginning."

Beta 6(confuse): "What?"

She realize that her rig is all rusted out and her skin is turning into bones all the sudden.

Beta 6(shock): "What's happening to me?"

Poe: "You're effect by my special abilities known as the "Red Death" which is a disease to consume the flesh of it's victims and you will be dead within 30 minutes, but don't worry your sisters are waiting for you in darkness. You don't have to worry about been alone."

He say that with a skull on his hand that all the skeletons that she bypass while trying to escape is her sister's dead bodies that has been consume by "Red Death". Poe decide to leave while Beta 6 is consume by "Red Death" where her entire body is rotten away and leave nothing but bones and scraps.

Time Skip

We can see Poe venture throughout the catacombs and activate a lever that was hidden behind a skeleton which reveal to be a hidden door that leads outside of the port and takes him directly back to his shop.

Poe: "She was close too, but she has full of fear that she bypass the exit."

The reason of why Poe give Beta 6 a 5 minutes start is that the lever is near the entrance of the catacombs that if Beta 6 wasn't consume by fear than she would able to find it, but she didn't and she is now become one of the dead. Poe is heading out and waiting for his next customers while he close the door with a bunch of dead Sirens behind him been consume by the "Red Death" which is glowing red. The Empress didn't know the fate of her units that went to investigate and decide to cancel the search which probably for the best, but what's the relationship with KMS Roon.
