Years passed and the amount of scars on her body grew, each one told a story she couldn't bring herself to share. Losing her confidence every time she gained new ones, looking at the mirror for how fucked up her body looks now. She traced the marks on her skin and memories would replay on her head. Too focused on her physical appearance, she didn't notice the knock on the door and Elena entering.
"You look beautiful, m'lady." Elena said, breaking Allani out of her thoughts. "Yeah well, maybe I'd look better without these marks." She forced a laugh to lighten the mood that spread all over her room.
"Scars shouldn't define a person's beauty, all that matters is what you see from within the person's eyes." Slowly walking up to the pitiful young woman, Elena cupped Allani's cheeks gently so that she could look straight into her eyes. "And you m'lady, have the most beautiful eyes. You have been through so much to get where you are now, don't let simple marks on your skin be your definition of beauty, these scars are healed, and so the soul of the person should be as well. They no longer bleed, your heart shouldn't be either." After a small pause with Allani taking in her words, she let out a sigh and a small smile appeared on her face, feeling much better.
"Thank you Elena. I much needed that."
"Of course, I will always be here for you." 'If only my parents were there for me as well.'
Elena placed a gentle kiss on her forehead and brought down her hands, brushing the strays of hair off of her face. "The reason I was here was because I was going to start planting the daffodils you wanted in the garden, would you like to join?" Allani nodded her head and wore her red dress that reached down to the ground and followed Elena out of her room. They walked in comfortable silence, their footsteps echoing the long halls.
Once they've reached the garden, the two immediately went to work and planted the different colored daffodils to their liking. "You know m'lady, in my hometown, we call daffodils; affrodille, and they are the most beautiful flowers that bloom on our side of the district."
Genuinely curious about the flowers because Allani really loved daffodils, she kept the conversation going. "Really? Do tell more about them."
"Those white daffodils symbolize new beginnings and purity. Most often used in weddings ceremonies to represent the purity of love and a new chapter." Her personal maid's eyes held a certain glow as she continued talking about flowers and Allani didn't want those to disappear so she asked questions that she knew Elena would answer. After all, before her parents took Elena and had her locked inside the walls of the mansion for a small misdeed that Elena couldn't afford to pay her debt, she was a florist in wall Maria.
"Pink ones represent love, peach represent sincerity, orange represent excitement, and yellow ones represent joy. May the gods of the walls hear my prayers and have you only ever come across all these daffodils." A small laugh left Allani's lips. "I doubt I'd be seeing pink daffodils then."
