22. Explain

I was so happy that Lion was alive, I don't know what I would do without him, he's been there for me through it all.
He's my twin, he will always be the other half of me, we will always have a special bond that nobody else will break.
"Mum explain, how is this our dad?" Lion asked
"I married him when I was young, due to a business deal. Then I fell in love with him, then you two came along. I had never felt so happy in all my life, I'm sorry you had to find out this way. But I had to run, so when I did, I didn't tell your dad you both existed" Mum said
Lion's face looked broken, I hated seeing him like this, the fact I was willing to risk it all and sacrifice myself to heal him, just goes to show how much he means to me.
"If I would've known you both existed, I would be out combing the streets, looking for both of you" dad answered

"Don't you have connections to try and find us?" Lion asked
The whole room went silent, he could have found us through connections, but I guess he decided not too.
"I did try looking for your Mum, I loved her, but people told me she was dead. I tried looking for you both, believe me, I did. But you two weren't in the system" dad said
I looked at mum, she had tears in her eyes, she looked happy to hear those words.
It only took dad over 21 years to tell mum, that he loved her.
None the less, if she was happy, I was happy.
"I see, who invited you here?" Lion asked
"I did" I said
Lion looked at me like a what the fuck look, if this meant Lion was going to die, I would've wanted dad to say goodbye. I didn't get to say goodbye to my adopted dad, so why can't our dad say goodbye to Lion?
"Why V?" Lion asked

I left the room, words were unable to move from my mouth, they were stuck.
I needed to speak with him, but I couldn't face him at the moment, I don't know why I'm feeling this type of way.
DAMN HORMONES!!!
I took a deep breath, I held back my tears, I walked back into the room where Lion laid.
"Can everybody leave the room please?" I asked
Everybody left the room, I sat down next to Lion, the look on his face when I said I invited dad here. He looked so disappointed in me, it just brought back so many memories.
"Why did you bring him here?" Lion asked
"I invited him here because I thought you was going to die, I never got to say goodbye to my adopted dad, or my adopted brother Riccardo. I just thought dad could say goodbye to you, give him the choice, that I didn't get given" I said
Lion looked down at his heart monitor, then back at me, whilst taking a deep breath.

"I thought you was going to die Lion, I thought I was going to be in this cruel world on my own, I would be lost without you. I didn't get the chance of growing up with you, I-"
Before I could finish my sentence, Lion hugged me tightly, he didn't speak, just hugged me.
He could tell I was in pain, I don't usually let my emotions out, but with Lion I could tell him everything without judgement.
Diego was right, he is a soldier, he's been through countless battles himself.
He reminded me of Riccardo in a way, he was brave, he was fearless.
"Who are you?" Said an unknown woman's voice
I turned around, she had; black curly hair, hazel eyes, tanned skin, pink leather jacket, white top, pink trousers, white converse trainers.

"Angela?" Lion asked
"Who is this Lion? It best not be one of Diego's whores!" Angela yelled
"I'm his sister, you arsehole" I cried
Angela looked stunned, she started to look guilty, I'm not a fucking whore!
I'll wash her mouth out with soap, fucking bitch, who does she think she is talking too?
"I'm Diego's soon to be wife, watch how you speak to me" I cried
Lion put his hand over his face, we had all got off on the wrong foot, why do I always get myself into these situations?
"I'm so sorry" Angela said
I looked at her, rolled my eyes, whilst walking out of the room.
Diego was talking to my dad, mum was talking to the nurse, what was they talking about?
I walked over towards them, I know Diego likes to expand his business, what was he up to?

"Hi wifey" Diego cried
"You're his wife?" Dad asked
"Soon to be, yes" I said
Dad looked over at mum, you could tell they both loved each other still, it was quite romantic.
"If you love her dad, go for it. You've got a chance, take it whilst you can" I answered
Dad hugged me tightly, I felt warmth in my chest, for 21 years I'd been waiting for that.
It meant a lot to me, these past couple of days have been killing me, but I got through it all.
I turned around looking at Diego, there was nobody else in this world, that I wanted more than him.
"You okay?" Diego asked
I smiled, as I gazed into his green eyes, my heart was beating faster than normal.
"I am, now that you're here" I smiled

Diego passionately kissed me, he didn't care if anybody was watching, I knew since the day I first met him. I knew he'd be a handful, but I didn't expect to fall in love with him.
"I love you" Diego cried
To hear those words come out of his mouth, reassured me that he wasn't going anywhere, he fights, I fight.
"I love you too"...
