Lapis' POV:
"Peridot?!" My eyes grew wide, and my mouth was slightly open from what I was witnessing. I couldn't believe it; the girl that I met at my job was the lead singer of the best band to ever exist?! While the rest of the crowd was shouting in excitement, I stood there dumbfounded, looking at the blonde girl picking the red guitar up and placing it over her head where the strap would hold the weight. "Are you ready, Beach City!?" Peridot would yell out to the crowd, which was obviously returned by chaotic screams and cheers. "1-2-3-4!" Peridot would count as the band started to use their instruments to create a head-bobbing melody. They began playing the backtrack for "Circles by Pierce The Veil," joined by Peridot starting to sing the lyrics to it.
Peridot did have a raspy voice last time I heard it, but the way she uses it to her advantage when singing is more than immaculate. My mouth hangs completely open now, not even sure how to process everything in front of my eyes. Not believing that I was at last at my favorite band's concert, and seeing the girl that I was originally questioning if I had a crush on, play and sing as the main lead! I immediately snapped out of my trance and started singing with her, not caring what relation I had with Peridot in any way, just enjoying the night further.
My favorite part was coming up, and hearing Peridot sing. It was even more exciting!
"You took my hand and then we both started running.
"Both started running."
"There's no place to go."
"Another bullet and we both started running."
"Both started running too."
"Save yourself and never look back."
"Nowhere to go so we both spin around in circles, circles."
"Ohhh let's go!"
I sang along as hard as I could, enjoying every moment of this night, and it looked like Peridot was having a blast as well. She sang her heart out to the crowd, sounding like a true rock star. I have to admit, Peridot's voice is much more fitting for the group's reputation and their genre. As the one song came to an end, more started playing, so many songs that I already knew by heart. The band looked like they were having fun as well, Jasper closing her eyes and taking it all out on the extra guitar, Amethyst bashing her head as she slammed the drums with her sticks, Garnet smiling and tapping her foot to the beat, and Peridot using full passion that was being put into her voice, and her fingers as she played the electric guitar.
Pearl, on the other hand, didn't seem to be too pleased for some reason. I'm guessing it's because she might have been "replaced." She didn't put as much energy into her voice as she usually does when she sings, and now she only sings a few lines of the lyrics after Peridot had sung them first.
The whole night was spectacular, with announcements being made. Every now and then, someone would come on stage, promoting their own brands on clothing, caps, or some random mugs. When they made their announcements, I took the time to grab something to drink - nothing alcoholic, just a few cool drinks. I checked in on Aquamarine every now and then, only to find her with her fingers plugged into her ears, resting her chin on the bar table. "Looks like you're enjoying this night, huh?" I chuckled, taking a sip of my drink, with one arm leaning against the bar table. "Oh, come off it! I don't want to be here any longer than I have to. "Speaking of which, how long is this bloody concert?!" Aquamarine snapped as she placed her whole palm on her head, gritting her teeth. "Well, looking at the program, it looks like it should be ending in a minute or two, unfortunately," I said with a disappointed sigh as I took a glance back at the stage. Peridot and the band were performing their last song before the end of tonight's concert. I gave a precious smile before telling Aquamarine to go wait in the car when the band says their goodbyes.
