Lapis' POV
I jumped out of bed in excitement. It was finally Sunday. I struggled to sleep; my mind kept wandering: what might happen today? What will the band think of me? What the hell am I going to wear?! The time I spent on Saturday was going to the mall or going to the beach to just lay low and relax for a bit, but my excitement got the best of me, and I was restless most of the time.
I got up with my hair looking like a bird's nest, but that didn't bother me at the moment. I went downstairs to pour myself some cereal in a bowl, constantly checking my phone. Peridot had not yet said what time she would come and pick me up. I'm guessing she might arrive during the middle of the day or later tonight. I sighed, trying to calm myself down. I took my frosted flakes and sat on the couch, waiting for a particular buzz from my phone. I turned on the TV and scrolled through a few movies. In the end, I decided on the movie "Home." I know, TV in the morning never suited well with my parents, but I just wasn't in the mood to argue with them. Plus, they weren't here.
Speaking of which, I picked up my phone and scrolled down to contacts. I chose the "Mother" contact. The last message she had left was telling me to get groceries for myself. I didn't reply to her then, and it's a little too late to do so now. I should probably text her about my life sooner or later. My mother has always been the strict type, always making up your bed in the mornings, no friends over after 4 pm, you need to read 3 books a month. At least I got to choose which ones, and definitely no TV in the mornings. But her strictness taught me how to handle things, whether you like it or not.
I sighed, a small smile appeared on my face as I texted my mother.
You: Hey mom, sorry for not speaking to you for a while, it's been really chaotic here. I'm going out tonight, so if I don't respond immediately tonight, just letting you know. While I had nothing to do but stare at the moving pictures on my TV, I decided to choose a new contact name for Peridot. I thought for a moment before deciding to change her contact to "Peri 💚."
Right when I was about to put my phone on the glass table in front of me, I felt another buzz. I opened messages to check. It was Peridot.
Peri 💚: Hey, so, I was wondering if I can come pick you up at exactly 12:00 pm? I calculated the time it would take to get us there from your house to the bar, including if traffic would strike or some natural disaster would occur.
I read the last part of her message out loud. I gave a scoff and giggled.
You: Wow, you really planned this out, didn't you?
Peri 💚: When you do something, you do it right.
I shrugged at her remark; I mean, she's not wrong. I decided to send my location to her so that she could find me when she drove to come pick me up.
*Location has been sent*
You: Here's my location if you need it.
Peri 💚: Oh, don't worry, I already have it.
My eyes instantly widened, and I frowned slightly.
You: Uh, how do you have my location? I never told you where I live...
Peri 💚: Well, I maybe, sort of, hacked your location out?.. hehe.
Wow, that certainly was a surprise. I didn't know she had that type of skill to hack someone's location out of their phone or something. I typed back, trying not to sound suspicious, but rather reassuring.
You: Wow, looks like singing isn't your only talent, huh?
I texted, trying to butter her up a little bit.
