Lapis' POV:

I locked the back door of the restaurant as I was the last to exit. It's almost 5 pm, and the concert isn't until another 3 hours. I groaned, walking with an arched back towards my bike parked against the back dumpster. I know it's not the best place to situate your bike, but you're not a customer, so you don't get to park up at the front of the restaurant. I quickly dragged the bike away from the stench coming from the dumpster. "God, what did we even throw away that gives off that smell?!" I said aloud to myself, my face showing a disgusted expression.

As I got on the bike, I rode towards my house. Not that hard to miss, my house has a white fence around the lawn and blue-coated walls. Most probably the only house that is blue in my neighborhood. While pedaling along, that one girl, Peridot, was occupying my mind the whole ride. She seemed so different in a way I was not able to put into words. But I tried to get her off my mind; besides, I have other things to think about! Like seeing the Sharded Stones tonight! I know mostly everything about them: who plays what instrument, their different personalities, and the genre type they perform. They mostly play soft rock music, or just music that makes your head bop up and down. The main singer there is who we call Pearl; she has a pretty and elegant voice, not exactly fitting the type of music they play, but the fans don't seem to mind. Then we have Amethyst, the drummer; Jasper, the guitarist; and Garnet, the bass.

I silently parked my bike in front of my door, struggling to find the key once again. But once I found it, I walked in with a sigh, closing the door behind me. I leaned against the door for a few seconds before straightening myself up. "Okay, another day almost over, great. Now you basically have the whole weekend to yourself," I said in a reassuring tone. As I was about to take a step, a faint buzz was heard coming from my phone. "What now?" I groaned, not wanting to talk to anyone, especially when you just came back from a job that includes interaction with everyone. I took a glance at my messages before reading:

British Bitch: Hey darling, I heard you're going to the Sharded Stones concert tonight. I'm going as well. Do you need me to pick you up?

I rolled my eyes, but was slightly interested in the fact that Aquamarine actually knows the Sharded Stones band.

You: Wait, how did you know I was going?

British Bitch: You could not stop babbling about it a few days ago. The rest of the employees were just fed up, saying that's all you would talk about.

I stood there, silent for a few seconds before responding.

You: I guess I did kinda overshare, huh...

British Bitch: I wouldn't know, I don't care for any of your interests at the moment. What will you be wearing for the concert?

Oh, right! I have not picked out my clothes for the concert yet, but I plan to go casual, not too fancy. I quickly typed back in response.

You: I haven't looked into it yet; I'm thinking something casual.

British Bitch: Mhm, acceptable.

British Bitch: You did not answer me about the driving situation.

I contemplated for a second before taking a look at my bike outside. It is a pretty long way to the concert...

You: Yeah, you can come pick me up at 7:30 pm.

British Bitch: Great, see you then, toodles.

I sighed one more time, realizing I was still leaning against my front door. "I guess I have some time to spare," I made myself a small bowl of popcorn, counting every second a popcorn kernel would pop. I took the bowl in my hands and sat down on the couch. I put on the TV to play She-Ra and the Princess of Power. It's just a show that can keep one entertained long enough to make the time fly by. I started munching down on the popcorn before Peridot popped into my mind once again.
