Peridot's POV:

It's been a day since Amethyst surprised me at my home, and it's the next morning. I decided to get up early and head towards the mall. I had told Jasper I would meet her there. I was prepared for anything that may happen between us: a gentle talk or a fight, but I needed to confront her about the bar incident. It was 8:37 am as I parked in front of "Red Temple Mall." The place was huge; anything you could ever want would be found right here, in this mall. I walked through the glass doors confidently. I did put on a cap before entering to try and hide my appearance from any strangers that might come forward as fangirl/boy crazy. I chose the day when most people would be at their jobs; Tuesday is a particularly quiet day for a Mall. As I walked past the stores, a few caught my eye, especially one, a robotics center. My interest immediately spiked as I saw the many different robotic parts and machinery. I tried to slow down, just to catch a few more peeks as I stared into the store, but sadly, I had to hurry to get to my destination. I scurried towards the middle of the mall with an annoyed sigh.

Jasper had said to meet near the fountain in the middle of the mall. As I was heading in that direction, I saw a large figure walking towards me. It was Jasper. We were still pretty far apart, but I could tell she wasn't in her best mood. As we got closer, I saw she had a serious frown. "Hello, Jasper," I said, standing a few inches away from her. "Peridot," she said, greeting back, her posture hunched down, looking downward towards me. I decided not to show my fear and straightened my face. "Alright, listen. Let's just cut to the chase. Jasper, I never want you to pull such a stunt again with any of my friends like how you did at the ba-" Before I knew it, I was being picked up by the collar of my shirt. I squeaked, feeling my glasses slip off the bridge of my nose. Jasper looked me dead in the eyes with a devilish smirk.

"You made me look small back at the bar, made me look like a fool! You don't get to do that with me," Jasper said, her hot breath right against my face. My face was mixed with emotions: fear, anger, and worry. I tried to pull myself out of her grasp, wiggling my legs to break free, even though I was basically 2 feet above ground level. "Jasper! Put me down, you clod!" I spat towards her, grunting as I tried to pull away her arms. Before I knew it, a fist flew in the direction of my face. I yelped as I landed on the floor with a thump. I pinched my eyes shut as I rubbed my eye; she had punched me right in the eye socket. I felt immense pain shooting through my nerves as my touch comforted the bruise. That's definitely gonna leave a black eye.

"You don't deserve to tell me what to do, punk," Jasper said, walking towards me with a grin. She kicked me in the stomach roughly. She could have gone harder, but I guess she wanted to stretch out the pain lashing through my body. By now, a few people were surrounding the fountain, looking at the scene we were creating. "You think 'cause you're the main lead singer now you're all tough shit, huh? Well, think again," Jasper said, giving me another kick in the stomach. My nose had started to bleed, and slight blood started running down my lower lip. My vision was blurry because of the punch. When Jasper took the punch, it shattered my glasses, making them fall off and completely break. I tried to stand up, to try and defend myself, or even show the little dignity I had left. I have to say, the people around us weren't helping either; they shouted "fight, fight, fight!" Surrounding us in a circle. Surely security had to have seen this mess, where the hell are those clods?!

"C'mon, Tiny, too scared to give a punch?" Jasper teased as I tried to get on my feet again. I groaned, growling under my breath in anger. I hated it when people commented about my height. I know I'm smaller than average, but there was no need to rub it in. I tried storming her from down below, aiming for her ankles. Though, that did nothing; I knew Jasper was 9× bigger and stronger. There was no way I could take down this giant woman. I felt useless. Jasper then grabbed my hair, making me grunt. I tried to get out of her hold, and suddenly kicked her chest, slightly making her lose her wind. I fell on my back with a bit of a hit. I grunted and screamed as my back hit the cold tiles. The pain shooting through my body was extreme. I was on the verge of tears because of it. I held my back, trying not to put any more pressure on it. Jasper looked more furious than ever; if smoke could come out of ears, she would definitely have it.

She was about to take another hit when a blue-haired girl came running between us. She looked familiar, but because of my blurry vision, I was unable to make out who. "Stop it! What are you doing, Jasper?!" The girl shouted in a stressed yet defensive voice. After she had spoken, I immediately knew who it was. "Lapis? W-what are you doing!?" I grunted as I tried to stand up. "Peridot, we need to get you out of here. I already told someone to call security," she said, turning her head towards me with a worried expression. She tried to lift me up by the arm to throw me over her, but Jasper made sure to get to her first. She grabbed her arm and pulled her closer. I wasn't sure of what Jasper had said to Lapis, but what I could make out was, "Come on baby, why so snappy now, huh?" Jasper had said in a seductive voice, crushing her one arm and holding her face tightly in her palm. "Let me go!" Lapsi said, struggling to get out of her hold, but Jasper did not budge, her grip only getting stronger. "Leave her be, Jasper!" I managed to say, grunting as I used all my force to stand up straight.

I finally made it to stand up. Luckily, Security had decided to make themselves shown to the crowd. Two men took Jasper's arms and forced her away from Lapis. Lapis scurried in my direction once she was free. She lifted me up, my arm around her neck as her other arm was around my waist. I looked around for a second; everyone had their phones flashing. It was basically certain that everyone had recognized who we were, the band members of the Sharded Stones. I sighed and grunted at the same time as we walked towards the doors that exited outside the mall. Lapis urgently tried to call up a taxi. Luckily, one parked right in front of us. Lapis desperately opened the door and gently placed me on the seat with a grunt. She ran to the other side of the car and sat in her seat next to me. "Where to, Ma'am?" The driver asked in a polite tone, but Lapis responded in a snappy voice saying: "483 East Side Lane," she said, throwing $12 on the seat. She probably took the taxi a lot, so she most likely knew how much it would have cost to head back to her house.

The driver didn't question it and drove off steadily towards her house. My whole body was aching; I groaned and bit on my lip. I was constantly telling myself not to pass out. I opened my eyes when I felt a hand grazing on my thigh. I glared towards Lapis, who had a crushed expression on her face and a slightly upset look as well. I tried to smile, showing her I was better than she might have thought. She closed her eyes and sighed, scooting closer towards me, throwing her arm around my neck, and rested her head on my hair. My face was slightly red. But everything felt...right. I rested my head on her shoulder, closing my eyes, just resting before we made it to her house.
