Chapter 12

Noah's POV

We reached the apartment. All the furnitures were already there. All we had to move were our belongings. We went inside our flat and kept our things in our bedroom.

We kept our clothes in separate closets. It took us about a hour to do so. We went outside to the kitchen.

“We have to go to grocery shopping.” I said while checking the refrigerator which was empty. Jessie nodded. “Let's go out to eat something because I am starving here.” she said. “Okay. After that we can go to buy groceries.” I said.

We changed our clothes then we went outside. We decided to not take my car. We walked there, it took us 10 minutes to reach to a good ramen restaurant.

We gave our food order. After we were done eating, we divided the bill. After paying, we went to a local grocery store.

We were chatting while shopping. When we were interrupted. “Hi, Jessie,” It was Olivia who said that. She said it with a really big smile but that smile disappeared when she saw me. “And Noah.” she said all as if she wants me to disappear.

“Hi, Olivia.” Jessie said. “Hi.” I said. “What are you two doing here?” she asked. “We came here for grocery.” Jessie replied. “What about you?” I asked trying to put up a friendly smile.

Honestly since I was younger, I never liked Olivia. She kind of gave me a negative energy. I always felt uneasy with her. Whenever I am with Jessie, I feel her glaring at us.

That's how we ended up shopping together. Jessie was trying to get a packet of chips that were a little above. She couldn't reach there. So I went towards her and got it down for her.

While I was doing so, my chest and her back was touching each other. I could smell her hair, it smelled like rose. But I could feel someone was giving us a dead glare. I could tell it's Olivia but do I care, no of course.

We went back to normal distance. I could see Jessie blushing. “Cute.” I muttered. Jessie's blush got darker. I chuckled. “Do we have anything more to buy?” I asked. She shook her head. “That's it. Let's go pay.” she said.

I turned to see Olivia red, almost flaming. “Are you done?” I asked. Olivia nodded. We went to the billing counter. We payed for our things. We then bid our goodbyes.

Me and Jessie were going to turn around when Olivia grabbed Jessie's hand. “How about I drop you off.” she asked. “Actually, me and Noah are going together. So, no need.” Jessie said.

“Oh,” Olivia said, “Okay then, bye.” Olivia walked away. We both let out a sigh. We started walking towards our flat.

When we went inside, we both dropped on the couch. I let out a sigh. “Did you notice, Olivia kept glaring at me?” I asked. She nodded.

“Has she been doing this to everyone?” I questioned. “I don't know about everyone but to Luna and Scarlett, she has been doing this since a long time.” she replied.

Looks like I have a competition. I really need to hurry and confess. But what if she doesn't like me? There are a lot of possibilities.’

She got up and said, “Let's keep the grocery in the fridge.” I nodded and got up. We took the bags and went into the kitchen.

After setting up all the things, we decided to cook dinner. We decided to make something fried rice. “Can you cook?” she asked. “Yeah, I am a pretty good chef. What about you?” I replied.

“I'm not bad but not good.”(Insert Jisoo's iconic meme) she said. I nodded. We had to clop vegetables for it. She said she would do it.

I started cooking rice. The rice was almost done when I heard a yell. “Ouch!” I quickly turned off the stove and turned to see Jessie's left hand's index finger bleeding. “Oh my God. Wait here, I'll come back.” I almost screamed.

I went to the washroom and got the first aid kit. I went into the kitchen and grabbed her hand making our way to the living room. I made her sit on the couch and I sat next to her.

“Oh God. You should have been more careful.” I scolded her while putting bandaid on her finger. “Sorry.” she mumbled.

“No, don't be sorry. Just be more careful next time.” I said. She nodded. “Here, finished. Is it hurting?” I asked. “Not that much.” she said and I nodded. “You sit here while I cook. And then we can watch a movie.” I offered.

She shook her head. “No. Let me help-” I cut her off “No. You are resting here.” She sighed and nodded. I went to the kitchen and started cooking again.

After I was done, I went to the living room and saw Jessie sleep. I cooed softly, she looked so cute. I took a picture of her sleeping. Then I woke her up. “Come on. The dinner's ready.” I said.

I turned on the TV and gave her the remote. “Select any movie you want to watch. I'll come back real quick.” I said. I got the food and sat next to her.

She had chosen Justice League. “You want to watch Justice League?” I asked, rising a eyebrow. “It's Justice League Snyder Cut. I wanted to watch this movie.” she said. “But isn't it 4 hours long?” I asked.

She nodded and said “4 hours and 2 minutes.” “But it's too long.” I whined. She chuckled and said “You can go to sleep if you want to.”

She started the movie. We ate our food while watching. Half way through, I looked over at Jessie and her sleeping. She was sleeping in a uncomfortable position while pouting.

I chuckled and placed her head on my shoulder to make her comfortable. She immediately hugged my arm. I then continued to watch the movie. Once the movie ended, I looked at Jessie sleeping peacefully.

I leaned in closer to her ears and was about to say something. When suddenly she turned and our lips met.

My stomach filled with butterflies…. Maybe not butterflies, a whole freaking zoo. As on cue, she opened her eyes. Her eyes widen, so did mine. We stayed like that and stared at each other.
