Valentine Day's Special

Loid and Yor were sleeping soundly. Yor fit perfectly between his arms and was sleeping with a smile on her face. There was suddenly a shrieking noise which startled both of them.
Yor jumped out of bed in her fighting stance and Loid sat up straight.

"Calm down, Yor. It's just Anya."

Yor relaxed herself, "Anya...? What's she doing up so early?"

Loid drank a sip of water from his bedside water bottle. "Better go check that out."

Yor exited the room to find a little Anya watching TV. "Anya-san, why are you watching Bondman so early in the morning? I thought the show only airs at night."

Anya looked back, "Mama! Today is a special episode. But Anya doesn't understand it... what is Valentine's Day?"

Yor blushed, "I-I don't know. Let me ask Loid-san."

Loid exited the room and smiled. "Valentine's Day is a holiday when lovers express their affection with greetings and gifts. It is also called St. Valentine's Day. The holiday has expanded to express affection between relatives and friends."

Anya got up and hugged her father, "But why do we celebrate it?"

Loid answered, "What began as a Christian feast day honoring two or three early Christian martyrs – the original "Valentines" – is now associated with celebrating being in love."

Anya asked, "Will you and mama also celebrate?"

Yor blushed a lot again.

Loid chuckled, "Yes, why not? We all will. Together, as a family."

Anya jumped in excitement! "Yay!! What should we do today?!"

Yor interjected in between the conversation, "My colleagues at the city hall told me that there was going to be a Valentine's Carnival today. Perhaps we could go there... if it's okay with you Loid-san?"

Loid replied, "That's a great idea. I'll get in the shower. We don't need tickets or any sort of thing like that, now, do we?"

Yor responded, "I don't think so. Also, Anya-san, what do you want to wear today?"

Anya put on one of the most serious thinking faces, "Anya.... Anya is going to wear PINK CLOTHES today! And so will Mama!"

Yor smiled, "Sure, Anya-san. After Loid-san gets out of the shower, I'll also go and wash. Enjoy your show!"

The Forgers were done grooming up. Loid was wearing a black shirt with pants and Anya and Yor were wearing shining pink dresses.

Loid was awestruck by Yor's beauty, "Thank god Anya made you buy that pink dress, eh?"

Yor blushed, "Psst.. not in front of Anya-san.."

Loid frowned, "I can't even compliment my wife in front of my daughter now? Jee-"

Both Yor and Anya laughed.

Yor added in, "I think we should go now. I heard that they're also going to have a theatrical show at 6."

Loid replied, "Alright."

The carnival was beautiful. The air invigorated of love and awe. It was at the city centre, a fully open space surrounded by beautiful buildings and decorations in pink. Most of the women there were dressed in pink, but Yor was shining the most.

There were many attractions at the carnival, there were food stalls, game stalls, make-up booths, shops, sweet sellers and so much more. Berlint never seemed so beautiful before.

"Mama! Papa! There are so many people over there near the pink balloon stand. Let's go there!"

There was in fact a huge crowd near the balloon stand. A funny looking man dressed in a pink tuxedo was standing there. "Come one! Come all! Do you want to surprise your Valentine with a beautiful special Valentine's balloon? Win our game and do so! This is the best gift they could ever get."

Loid scoffed, "A balloon?"

The man smirked, "Not just any balloon sir! There is a special surprise inside it! Why don't you win and find out?"

Anya started screaming, "Please Papa!! Win the game!"

The man looked at Anya, "Little girl, this is not a game one can play alone. Your parents would both have to play the game in order to win?"

Loid asked, "What's this game about?"

The man spoke, "You and your partner will each be given a sheet. On that sheet there are many fields regarding your partner's choices and favourite things. If you both get a score of more than or equal to 7 out of 10, you win!"

Loid smirked, "Well, this will be easy now, won't it?"

"Here are the sheets, sir and ma'am. You are not supposed to look at your partner's sheets or do any sort of signals. Do that and you won't win."

The fields on the sheet were:

1. Favourite Food
2. Favourite Movie
3. Favourite Colour
4. Favourite book
5. Favourite restaurant
6. Favourite Season
7. Favourite Sport
8. Favourite Place
9. Favourite Hobby
10. Favourite Festival

"Alrighty, let us begin. We'll start with you Mrs.Forger. What do you think is the favourite food of your husband?", said the man.

Yor rarely cooked and thus rarely had the chance to ask for feedback, so she was confused... "Uh... uh... fried eggs?"

"Sorry! You got that wrong. The correct answer is southern stew!"

Yor was taken aback... it was the first dish that she could actually cook and fed him. It made her feel really special.

"So... Mrs. Forger what do you think is the favourite place of your husband"

"Hmmm.... I have no doubt about this one. It's... it's the Forger residence, our home.", she said proudly.

"Correct! Your final score is 7/10. Let's see if your husband is able to keep this up as well."

The man took of his pink coat, "So... Mr. Forger, this question... it decides if you win or not. This is your last chance, you're at score of 6/10. What do you think is your wife's favourite season?"

"Oh... of course I remember this. It's one of our commonalities. It's autumn.... the season we fell in love. Autumn denotes growth and rejuvenation, somethings we both admire."

Yor smiled brightly.

"That is correct! Mr. and Mrs. Forger, here. Take your balloon. Oh and I advise you to open it as soon as you can.", said the man and handed them the balloon.

Yor handed her hairpin and the balloon to Anya, "Anya-san, why don't you do the honours?"

Anya jumped in excitement and bursted the balloon. "Huh... Mama what is this red button thingy...? So boring."

Anya was now let down. Loid took the grey plate with a red button on it. *Huh... what could this even be...? Is it an assassination attempt? Are there any enemy spies nearby..??*

Yor looked at him, "What's the matter dear... I hope you aren't overthinking about this..."

Loid smiled, "You know what, let's push this button together. On the count of 3.

1... 2.... 3... BAM! The sky lit up with red fireworks... it was entrancing. It seemed as if the sky was nothing but bright red... just like the colour of Anya, Loid and Yor's hearts at that moment.

Loid and Yor made eye contact and then slowly... proceeded to kiss each other.

Loid spoke, "Happy Valentines Day, Yor and Anya."

Anya screamed, "Happy Valentines Day, papa!"

Yor hugged Loid, "Happy Valentines, my love!"
