Chapter-26 ~ Rescue Part-2

"Fiona.... as much as I hate the fact that you are in love with my husband and want him.... Now is not the time to fight among ourselves... Loid-san's life is at risk. Please remove your gun from my head.", said Yor in a calm voice.

Fiona pressed her gun even more tightly into Yor's forehead... "You BITCH! Not even did you steal Twilight from me.... but you're also the reason that his life is in danger. What kind of a WOMAN and WIFE are YOU!"

She spat on the ground and punched Yor's stomach.

Yor started to tear up, "I-I-I unders-s-stand.... you b-but... I really do love him.... It was all my fault and I didn't even know what I was doing... please let me save him... we can save him together."

"Nah. You're not going anywhere. Get down on your knees and pay for your sins.", responded Fiona.

Yor kept her stilettos on the ground and sat on her knees.

"Goodbye, Mrs. Forger.", said Fiona.

As she was about to pull the trigger, Yor extended her arm to pick one of her stilettos and used it to deflect the shot and then stabbed Fiona's leg.

"DAMN YOU! YOU BITCH!", screamed Fiona in pain.

As Fiona was trying to regain her composure and was about to shoot, Yor stabbed her other leg jumped to kick her hand which held her gun.

The gun flew across the hallway and landed in a dark corner. Fiona's legs did not have the strength to stand anymore so she fell down.

"I'm sorry, Fiona.... But I have to save him... he's my husband.", cried Yor.

Fiona was about to loose consciousness due to her blood loss. Before she fainted, she cursed at Yor, "YOU BITCH! I HATE YOU.... I FUCKING HATE YOU!"

Yor looked pitifully at her sight and felt the deepest guilt for leaving her there like this. However, Loid was her upmost priority and she knew that time was running out. She walked straight towards a huge 6 feet steel gate.

The gate was locked, however, there was a control panel on the right side of the gate. The panel required a thumb print to access. *Fiona must have had the thumb print on her because she was also heading here.*

Yor went back to Fiona's unconscious body and searched her clothes for anything which could help her. Inside her coat's pockets, Yor found a thin membranous sheet. *This thing must have a valid thumb print on it.*

Yor went towards the control panel and used the sheet to access the panel and bypass the biometric lock. She opened the gate and went inside it.

Despite the size of the gate, there was only a narrow hallway behind it. The hallway was long but dimly lit.... it was almost impossible to see clearly. Yor walked into the hallway with her stilettos ready for any possible action. There were cells on each side of the hallway and all were dark. She could see light from one of the cells in the hallway and ran towards it.

She banged on the door, "Loid-san?!! Are you in there?"

Loid screamed from inside, "YOR! RUN AWAY! It's a trap! GO AWAY!"

She was confused, however, became alert. There was no one else around her, there was no light and no noise. As soon as she turned her back on the cell, the door opened and she was tazed.

The director was the one who tazed her and she collapsed. "That ought to do it, eh? Twilight? But really, the woman who trapped you in the first place came to save you. How deep can this shit get?"

Twilight who was sitting on his bed with handcuffs tied to a lock on the floor screamed, "PLEASE! Don't do anything to her... I'm already being executed... please just let her go. We also have a daughter... please!"

The director turned towards Twilight, "Look, Twilight, she infiltrated the HQ of SSS and tried to save the most top priority prisoner. Normally, I would've had guards at this place but there would've been too much blood shed and she might've also been killed. The best I can do for her is life imprisonment rather than execution. As for your daughter, she'll be placed in the foster care system and will be given to a good family."

He screamed, "This is too much! Please at least let Yor go... I beg of you!"

The director didn't say anything and walked out of the room. He carried Yor and placed her beside Twilight on his bed. "This is the most I can do. She will wake up in an hour or two. Spend your last moments with her peacefully. No one will disturb you."

He threw the key to Twilight's handcuffs on the floor near Twilight's legs and exited the room.

"Loid-san? Loid-san??", screamed Yor as she suddenly woke up.

Loid was sitting beside her on the bed with his back to the wall. He was crying... his face and eyes were both red, however, he was not making any sound. Tears kept pouring from his eyes... however, everything was silent.

Yor got up and looked at Loid's state. Seeing him like that brought out the darkest and saddest parts of Yor. "P-P-Please don't cry...." she begged as she started to tear up herself.

Loid decided to break the silence, "Why? I just want to know.... Why did you do... what you did?"

"I AM SORRY!", she screamed.

Loid replied, "That doesn't answer my question... why did you do it?"

"I-I- I thought at that moment that it was the right thing to do. I had lived my whole life for my country... I-", she was cut off by Loid.

"Well, at least there won't be a war anytime soon... Regardless, I never thought I'd say this but... I now regret falling in love... why did you even come here? You could've let me die peacefully knowing that I had completed my mission and that you and Anya were safe. But.... Now... everything has fallen apart..."
