《39》Hotwire a car

Ella blew a strand of hair out of her face. Her hands were tied with a rope behind her back.

A clattered sounded infront of her. It came from the chains that were used to tie her father and Brian to the ceiling. Their feet hung over the ground.

,,You spared up quite a bit of trouble today", a man in a white suit said to the hanging man.

Ella tried to get the rope on her hands lose, but it didn't worked.

,,Three of my man dead. Three DA. agents along with them.", he continued ,,Of course this is business and sometimes things go stray. All I care about is the car. Tell me where it is and I let you go", The mans eyes met Ella before his gaze went back to the two man.

,,This roofing plastic says you're full of shit", Brian spoke up now.

The man giggled slightly. ,,I don't know how you guys do business on your part of the world but here in Rio, I like it when all parties know what there up against", He said walking up and down infront of them.

"That's funny", Dom now said. ,,Cause that goes both ways".

Meanwhile Ella had remembered what her mother taught her, so she took her hair band around her wrist and ripped it open by the stitches. The girl took out a little, closed knife and opened it. She stopped doing anything when the man walked up to her and took her chin in his hands.

,,You know.. your daughter is very beautiful and I heard you sister is just as beautiful.", His grip around her chin got loosened as Ella turned her face away from him.
,,I will take her", he pointed at the girl ,,And I will find your sister", He smiled at the father before leaving. ,,You will come after us with the girl", He ordered to the man that stayed behind.

One of them walked towards Ella as she still tried to cut through the rope. She could hear some cars driving away outside while the man grabbed her chin.

,,Muy bonita. Triste que te quiera para sí mismo", He mumbled near her face that she felt his breath on her cheek.
~Very pretty. Sad that he wants you for himself~

Ella finally made it to cut the rope around her wrist. He realised she was free when his face came in contact with her fist. He stumbled back a bit and held his hurting cheek.

Meanwhile, Brian kicked the passing man in his guts and before the stumbling man could react, ripped Dom his chains around his hands open and punched the man in the face, before he fell to the ground.

The man who still stood beside Ella ran towards Dom and pulled out his gun. But before the fired bullet could hit him, he pushed the arm away so the bullet hit the ceiling. After that Dom pushed him to Brian who slung his legs around the mans neck.

The man on the ground wanted to stand up again but Elli kicked his face as he fell to the side.

,,You ok?", Dom asked his daughter as he freed Brian.

,,Yeah", She said shortly before knocking the man on the ground out with another kick.

,,How did you get free?", Brian asked her and stroked over his wrists.

,,I have some tricks", I said as I showed the the hairband that is ripped open and the little knife.

Dom walked over to the window, looked outside, before turning back to Brian and Ella.
,,How about we get out of here?", he asked them as Ella walked over to him and Dom put his hand on the shoulder of the ten year old.

Together they walked to the next car that stood outside. Brian looked around the car as Dom broke one of the windows. He opened the door from inside and pushed the glass from the seat.

,,Do you still know how to hotwire a car?", Dom turned to Ella.

,,A bit", she said and remembered the last time with nine.

Flashback

Dom and Ella sat beside a car. The cover under the steering wheel was removed.

,,So what do you see?", Dom asked his daughter.

,,A wire harness connection", Ella pointed out.

,,That's right. You have to find two same wires. They're red", Dom told her.

Ella searched around for a bit before taking two red wires in her hand.

,,That cable is the main power supply for the ignition switch, the other is the connection to the vehicle's circuits that receive power when the ignition key is turned. Connecting these provides power to the ignition components, allowing the engine to run when the starter is turned.", Dom explained the cables. ,,Now you take this", Dom said and gave Ella a knife with a plastic handle. ,,Go ahead and and cut away some of that isulation", He told her.

Ella did as he told her.

,,Now you take these two wires and just twist them a bit together", Dom said.

And Ella also did that before Dom continued talking.

,,Ok can you find the ignition cable now? It is brown and then you also cut away the isulation", He said as Ella finished that quickly and before Dom could explain any further, Ella already put the three wires together. A little spark resulted and Ella turned the car key.

The car turned on, before Ella started celebrating.

Flashback end

Ella hotwired the car like Dom tought her a year ago and you could clearly see how proud he was of his daughter.

,,Great Elli", Brian complimented her. ,,But we should really get going".

Brian got in the driver seat, Dom in the passenger seat while Ella got in the back.

The warm wind from the broken window started to blow into Ellas face, as they started to drive and Elli was once again happy that nothing worse happend that day.
