Open Holster.
The love wasn't the same. So why does she keep calling and texting my social media?
I'm not crying; but I'm Defeated, depressed, and in grief.
Overall that. I FEEL RAGE!!
"How did she help me!?" Love and assurance.
"How does basketball help?" Relief and health.
They're both dead.
Outside it's pleasing. Trees swaying with motion a dancer would admire.
"Is it love if it isn't eternal?"
The moon glistens across the park. An indigo glow saturates my surroundings. This bench clusters with the playground swings.
"Maybe. Love is only a feeling." Music's the only thing soothing my soul.
A car, red like blood, has been positioned by the park entrance for 7 minutes. After I threatened them and beat Jamar, I knew what to be prepared for.
Click! Safety is off.
"If it's them, I'm shooting." I'm probably tripping anyways.
TAP! TAP! TAP! CRUNCH!
I turned my arm faster than my head; when I saw a familiar face standing in front of me, I didn't shoot.
"AAHH!!"
"Chill! Sorry! I jus got scared hearing yo feet." Instantly I tucked my gun in my hoodie pockets.
Damn I really held Amara at gunpoint. Why was she even behind me? Oh, there's houses behind the park.
"Um...you're good." Amara looks good in those jeans and her cleavage pokes through her top! Her skin complexion reflects the moonlight onto my lustful eyes.
Damn, she's bad!
"Is that Isaac?" she can recognize me? I'm wearing all black. More importantly, Amara remembers me. I'm surprised we didn't talk that long and I left her abruptly when I saw Raven
"Yeah my bad."
She looks scared but engaged. "You good?" I should be. She's too kind to ask me that after I toted a gun at her.
I forget those types of people shouldn't be a threat to me. They're petty not tuff.
"Yee! I was jus listening to music. Clearing my mind from bullshit." In retrospect this'll be funny. "Are you good? Don't want you thinking anything crazy bout me!"
She brightly smiles "I am now!"
BEEP! BEEP!
"I gotta go to the studio though. See-yuh!"
Studio sounds therapeutic. "Can I come?"
I can make all the excuses, but I don't know why I asked. Usually, I don't say much. "Probably! I don't think there's any space in the car."
PFT! "I gotta car, so I can follow behind. If not, then it's cool."
"Then you can come. Don't try nun crazy or you won't wake up tomorrow. My people don't play." That's fair; I'm surprised she even said yes. Must've sensed I'm just chilling.
"Ahahaha! I get it, don't worry. I'm pussy I wasn't going to shoot anyways!" I'm lying, Amara almost died.
We walk to the red car, and she introduces me to her friends and makes it seem like I was invited. Her friends asked for my Instagram to be familiar with me and obviously recognize my face wherever. "ohh I've seen you play against my school earlier in the year!" one of the girls said. That was the only game I've played too!
"Oh for real?" My response is kind to affect there impression of me. I don't want to talk about basketball, so I kept my response short.
Four boys and two girls plus Amara.
"Go in your car, we're almost late!" She didn't have to repeat herself I already have my car started.
Why aren't they moving? I look up and Amara is talking to them through the window. Her bent over triggers my lust. I am single now.
Amara walks to my passenger side. "You good?" She quietly nods.
"They want me to ride with you and they'll follow behind." She looks unamused but satisfied. I let her in because she's probably just lying and wants to be with me!!
Or not.
Her ride from the club was in the car. She might remember me too because I know I look goofy storming out of the club. I wonder what Amara was thinking.
"Just go straight and make a left the third light." She's close!
Looking at her makes me mad. I'm single now. I can talk to her now. I'm not in the mood.
I miss Raven.
"Isaac, why aren't you in Atlanta for your game tomorrow? My brother's school is playing yours and when I found that out, I was like Isaac's playing them!"
Imagine they sent Amara after me instead coming to me instead! HAHA!! No way!
I got my gun close to me just in case.
"I left the team. Ion wanna talk bout it."
"Sure. The way we met again was funny. When I met you, I didn't think you move like that, but okay Isaac! Ahaha!" For real!
"Haha! Of course! I gotta be ready whenever a nigga gon try me! Naww, but jus know you'll be safe if I'm around." We lock eyes and she smiles. Breaking eye contact Amara slowly nods her head pleasingly. "OH! Put yo number in my phone ion be on social media." Damn why did I say it like that I'm usually smoother, but I haven't talked to a girl in a long time!
Maybe I just don't want her like that?
I did just get out a relationship.
Fuck it lets see where this goes. I need a distraction.
"Gimme your phone then." Ouuuuu! IM LIKE THAT!! She excitedly creates her contact. "Wait. Don't you gotta girlfriend?"
I forgot I told her that! That was the first thing I told her! "We actually jus broke up."
"Oh okay." Her energy changed. NO! I SHOULD'VE LIED!
It's cool I wouldn't want to rebound either. "She hated you that much?"
"I broke up with her. But for what she did! Yeah, she must've hated me." Amara sympathizes, but whenever I talk about it I feel nothing. It's like a part of me died. When I ponder that feeling, my heart beats fast, my smile fades, and my mind replays that night.
It's crazy because all she had to do was love me too. Was it that hard?
My blizzard is warmer because anger burns my soul.
Heart beating out of control.
Body's shaking.
The road is clear, but my tunnel vision only views that night. Haven't felt like this in a long time.
"Isaac!" Amara's voice pulls me out of the zone as I run a red light.
"My bad."
"You good jus make a U-turn and stop in that plaza." VRB! VRB! "Isaac, someone's calling you."
An unknown number? Amara leaves the car to talk to her friends.
When I answered I instantly recognized her voice. "Isaac! Isaac! Where are you?" This bitch is crying. "What the fuck are we breaking up for!?"
Why is Raven the one crying?
