The morning of September 1st started wild.My hair stood up in a friz, colored strands of hair sticking to every side and falling to my face like some sort of bangs were a few rainbow curly strands. I was a sight.
I focused hard on my hair making it go back to my natural brown and made it look wavy as I put on a jean colored headband. I put on a denim overall, knee length dress with a black short sleeved shirt underneath and black ankle boots.
I smiled slightly at my reflection, seeing a few strands of straight hair glimmer with different colors and rolled my eyes fondly. Well, at least I had a little bit more of control over my hair.
I grabbed my wand and shoved it inside one of the pockets on my dress, glad that I found a dress with pockets on one of my shopping trips with mum.
As soon as I was ready, I walked down the stairs. My family was already sitting in the kitchen. Mike was eating, dad reading the newspaper and mum was humming while cooking.
I stood in the doorway for a minute just watching this scene. I wouldn't see it for a few months. The sentiment didn't last long before a mischievous smile apppeard on my lips as I jumped forward with a thud, startling them.
"Morning!" I sing-sang.
Dad jumped, ruffling the newspaper and some papers fell while Mike chocked on whatever he was eating, coughing loudly. Mum slightly flinched but managed not to drop the plate she was serving as she began to laugh along with me. It was obvious she was expecting this kind of behavior from me.
"Good morning, darling" Mum greeted, placing the plate in my place at the table.
Dad simply gave me a look, a hand on his chest as he composed himself.
Mike glared at me, cleaning his mouth with a napkin. "Would it kill you not giving me a heart attack this early?"
I smiled innocently, "Sorry"
Mike rolled his eyes, "I will definitely not miss that"
Mum lightly smacked the back of his head "Be nice. This is our last breakfast together, honey"
The reminder made my smile fade momentarily. I was definitely going to miss my family.
Mike sighed, "You're right. You're forgiven for this time, shortcake"
I stuck my tongue at him but gave him another smile as I sat on my chair.
"The train is not due for until another hour and a half" Dad reminded. "So, I suggest you finish quickly that the station is a bit far"
"Got it" I mock saluted, starting to eat.

As soon as I was done with breakfast, I began checking on my trunk to make sure I wasn't forgetting anything.
Mum knocked on my door, leaning against the doorway as she watched me, chuckling at my energetic spasms as I ran left and right in my room.
"Slow down a bit, sweetie" Mum laughed, shaking her head. "You may trip and crack open your skull"
I giggled. "I've been doing this since I learned to run and I haven't -" I stopped at the knowing look in my mum's eyes. "It was one time!"
"You broke your arm" Mum reminded, amused. "And had a lot of scratches on your knees so slow down. We're on time, baby"
