We crossed what was left of the lake; turning a small corner, I gasped along all the others when I saw Hogwarts. It was magnificent, a gleaming castle on the rock which towered up into the sky and speared the clouds overhead with its turrets.

It suddenly disappeared behind the cliff which we sailed beneath and we ducked under an ivy curtain before climbing out of the boats and into a small harbor.

Remus tapped my shoulder, noticing he was trying to fight a grin, "I belive we won a bet"

James and Sirius perked at that, following Remus' gaze, seeing the guy who dared us, him and the boys in his boat were staring at us, wide eyed and gaping.

Remus and I walked closer, the other three boys behind us. I twirled a strand of purple hair - it looked a dark shade as it was wet -

"I think you owe us" I said quietly, a pleasant smile playing on my lips.

The boy looked between us, incredulously. "You actually jumped?" he was surprised. Apparently he thought we wouldn't do it.

"We don't back from dares" James glanced at his nails in boredom. The five of us were freezing but we were trying not to let it show. "So, yeah. We did. It was very easy actually"

The boy gulped nervously. We were staring at him quietly. My head tilted aside, fighting back the gigle threatening to leave but Remus nudged my arm so I could keep up the act.

"I'll pay you later, okay?" the boy said, looking very nervous about the way we were looking at him.

Remus hummed curiously, glancing at us. Oh. He looked very very calm and somehow a responsible guy. Who would have thought he could be this mischievous too? Ah, the quiet ones. He was more dangerous than what he looked. We'd get along perfectly.

"Alright" Remus smiled. "But keep this in mind-"

"If you don't" I continued, lips curling in amusement "We won't care what house you're at-"

"We will find you, stalk you-" James didn't dare to hide his wide smile.

"All the days from school until-" continued Sirius, smiling wickedly, smacking Peter so he could talk as well.

"You pay our money" ended Peter, nervous but sounding confident.

"And, oh boy" We cooed together, smiling at each other for how in sync we were with this, turning to him. He had turned pale and was eyeing each one of us in fear. "You won't like to mess with us"

The poor guy looked like he was gonna pee. We were looking at him expectantly with tilted heads.

Psychotics?

Sadistics?

Obviously Not!

We only wanted our money.

The guy and his friends immediately left us alone and we waited just a few seconds before we burst out laughing, clinging to each other to not fall down.

Remus was the first to compose himself, shaking his arms, water droplets falling from his sleeves. "That was fun" he said quietly.

"You were great" James beamed at him, nudging his arm.

Sirius was the one to hook an arm around Remus' neck as we followed after Hagrid as soon as he helped the last kid out of the boats.

"Indeed very great, friend" Sirius told him.

Remus had a small smile playing on his lips as he stared down at the ground.

James had an arm around Peter's shoulders and the other around mine. "Peter here also cooperated which I didn't think would happen so consider me impressed and proud. I think with time, we can get him to stop being nervous and stand up like he did right now"

Peter looked ecstatic at the compliment, even straightening, his smile not leaving his face.

We stopped in front of a large oak door where Hagrid knocked before we were let in by a stern looking woman with glasses.

"Firs' years, Professor McGonagall"

"What took you so long?" she asked.

Hagrid briefly glanced our way but we were behind some other kids. "Acciden' in a boat"

The five of us exchanged looks, stifling our chuckling.

Professor McGonagall gave him a stern look, giving a brief nod. "Nothing happened, I suppose" Hagrid shook his head, "Very well. Thank you. I will take them to the Hall"

She pulled the door wide, letting us in.

The entrance hall was really big. The stone walls were lit with flaming torches, the ceiling was too high to make out and a magnificent marble stair case facing us led to the upper floors.

We followed professor McGonagall across the flagged stone floor. I could hear the drone of hundred of voices from a doorway to the right, so I guessed the other students were already inside but we didn't go there.

Professor McGonagall led us to a small, empty chamber off the hall. We stood rather closer together than we usually we would, but we were nervous and it didn't help that James, Sirius, Remus, Peter and I were still dripping wet.

"Welcome to Hogwarts" she started "The start-of-term banquet will begin shortly, but before you take your seats in the great hall, you will be sorted into your houses. The sorting is a very important ceremony, because, while you are here, your house will be something like your family within Hogwarts. You will have classes with the rest of your house, sleep in your house dormitory, and spend free time in your house common room.

"The four houses are called Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin. Each house has its own noble history and each has produced outstanding witches and wizards. While you are at Hogwarts, your triumphs will earn house points, while any rule-breaking will lose house points. At the end of the year, the house with the most points is awarded the house cup, a great honor. I hope each of you will be a credit to whichever house becomes yours.

"The Sorting Ceremony will take place in a few minutes in front of the rest of the school. I suggest you all smarten yourselves up as much as you can while you are waiting"

Her eyes lingered in each one of us until they stopped in the five of us, she gasped and her eyes widened.

"What happened to you?" She asked, examining our appearance.

We looked at her innocently.

"We fell from the boat, we didn't mean to" Sirius replied innocently.

"So you're the accident Hagrid mentioned" Professor McGonagall pursed her lips, shaking her head. She pulled her wand, waving it at us.

A warm sensation passed through me, realizing my clothes and hair were dry, seeing the same with the others.

Remus nudged my arm to look up at Professor McGonagall, seeming to be mumbling something under her breath.

Remus' breath tickled on my ear as he whispered, "I think she hopes we aren't troublemakers"

I giggled, "Poor professor" I whispered back, amused.

Remus shook his head, looking like he was trying not to laugh as Professor McGonagall left us alone.
