Joon POV
"I don't know." I sniffle. "I am just in awe that Mel, this amazing, strong, beautiful person, is in love with me. Not just that but she shares her equally amazing daughter with me and allows me to be like a dad toward her. It is like an instant family made in heaven, and she wants ME."
I take a deep breath.
"I always felt like something was going to happen to take them away from me. Like even though she said legally he couldn't do anything, the bio dad would come, and they would get ripped away from me and destroy me. I mean, honestly, what have I ever done to deserve them."
"Wow, Joon. For someone who is all about loving yourself, that is very self-deprecating," He tells me.
I just nod, and he sighs.
"I didn't want to believe it. I was already a little worked up from some comments that had been made a week or so before on a picture, and I...don't even know. Him saying she was after his 'status' then her being with me, I mean she never acted like she was after money or anything...I have no excuse."
"You're right, you don't. But you need to know what you have done. The full effect of what has happened before you go any further. I went to see her. She was on the floor in a ball, sobbing. I called Eunji, who already had little Joon, and explained what happened. She told her that her mom was sick and that she was going to spend a few nights at Eunji's house.
"It took me hours to get her off of the floor. It took us two days to get her to eat something, and she only ate then because I threatened to take her to the hospital. It took another day for her to be able to keep anything down. The guys and I rotated, but we made sure that one of us stayed with her for an entire week. We kept hoping that you would see reason and come back and fix it. She asked us multiple times a day if we had seen or talked to you, and then she asked less and less until she stopped asking altogether. The day we found out she wanted to leave, we all went over and begged her to stay. The thought of losing them made us all panic. I have never relief like I did when she agreed to stay."
Tears are streaming down my face again. I can't believe I caused this. I broke us.
"Do...do you think th-that there..."
"I don't know." He says.
Mel POV
"Is that what you are wearing?" I ask.
"Yes, I want to feel like a pretty princess but want them to know I mean business."
I nod, trying to look serious. She is wearing black combat boots and black swipes under her eyes like a football player and has paired it with a pretty pink poofy princess dress.
"Terrifying," I tell her.
I hear the door buzzer, and I go to open the door, assuming it is the guys.
"Eager much? You are an hour early..."
My voice fades, and I freeze once the door is open. Joon is standing there, alone. I step back and motion him to come in.
"JOONIE!"
I hear a squeal behind me, and the next thing I know, he is scooping her up in his arms and hugging her tight. As he pulls back, I see a few tears escape down his cheek. Thankfully, she doesn't seem to notice. He puts her down.
"Hey, shorty, can you go play so your mom and I can talk?"
"Okay, fine. But you need to make up."
She turns and skips to her room. I turn and head toward my bedroom, motioning for him to follow me. Once in my room, I close the door, leaving it cracked, and take a seat on the bed. He paces in front of me. I sit silent, waiting.
