Alex Joiner, he was standing at the top of his building, gazing down upon the night city of St. Louis. He turned to his TV and unmuted it.

"And we're here in the aftermath of the Spirit's attack. Apparently, this group of people here were a local gang. Police say there are no survivors of this attack. Now we are going to go inside the warehouse, but viewer discretion is advised. This may not be suited for most audience members." The woman said as she and the camera crew went inside the warehouse. "Oh my God." She said as she covered her mouth.

Alex just chuckled, unphased by the bloodshed staining the walls, floor, ceiling, and about everything else in there. But the camera panned over someone's corpse, and Alex recognized his face.

"No, is that?" Alex began to ask himself.

It turns out, it was who he thought. How Alex got his power and money had a lot to do with this gang.

"Shit. Well, I hope you held out, I was not paying you to break down to an interrogation." Alex said as he poured himself some scotch.

He turned back to the TV and took a drink, but when he tilted the cup, nothing came out. He looked down at it and noticed it was empty.

"What the fuck?"

"Hello, Alex." Came a voice.

He quickly turned to the voice and saw the Spirit of St. Louis sitting on his couch, holding his glass of scotch.

"Did you really replace my scotch with an empty glass?" Alex asked.

"Oh yeah. Cheers, fucker." Spirit said as he raised his glass.

"Can I help you? Or are you just here to be a child?" Alex asked.

"You know what, you can help me. I got this asshole I need taken care of, and I heard you're the guy to go to about that."

"Is that so?"

"Oh yeah, and I got all the information I needed on this guy."

"Couldn't you do this yourself, Spirit?" Alex asked as he raised an eyebrow.

"Possibly. But I thought I would give this, 'contract' to you."

Spirit over to Alex's desk and dropped a file and sped back to the couch.

"What's this?"

"A hamburger, what do you think? That's the guy I want you to go after, and it's everything I have on him, which is basically everything."

"Sure."

Alex poured himself another drink and opened the file.

"This is me." Alex said.

"With everything I have on you."

Alex flipped through the notes.

"You've done your research."

"Oh yeah. A millionaire businessman, who got his money by stepping on the little guy."

"This is the real world, Spirit. Survival of the fittest and all that. Get your head out of this fantasy."

"I mean, I could do that, if I wanted to. But you do realize I am a speedster, right?"

"You know what, I don't care." Alex said as he tossed the file into the trash can.

"You should. I got that gang boss guy of yours to sing like a canary. He blew the whistle on your dumbass. And you know what, I do not like anything you have done for this stupid company."

"I do what I must to keep this company going." Alex said.

"Yes, but does that include killing children?"

"Whatever it takes."

"Of course, of course. But the thing is, I'm not cool with killing children and just the innocent in general. But hey, welcome to St. Louis. Although, it's more of East and North St. Louis you'd have to stay away from."

"You're definitely from here."

"And? How much does that actually narrow down who I am? I mean, regular St. Louis ain't no picnic either."

"Can I help you with something, or are you just going to give me these empty threats?"

"Excuse me? Empty? Who the fuck do you think you're talking to, The Flash?" Spirit asked.

"No speedster is as bloodthirsty as the public makes you out to be. You're just a pretender. You're going to continue to threaten me, but when it comes to actually killing me, you're going to run off like a scared little child."

Spirit just started laughing.

"Now who's living in a fantasy?" He laughed out.

Then the Spirit turned to the wall.

"What do you think, audience?"

"Excuse me?"

"The audience to my live stream. I've been streaming this entire conversation." Spirit answered. "Which means, live on camera, you confessed."

Alex just shrugged.

"I can survive this."

"Really? You're a millionaire, not a billionaire."

"True, this may slow me down, but it won't stop me."

Spirit just scoffed. Alex shrugged as he turned away from the speedster.

"You know," The Spirit began, "people like you truly are heartless creatures."

"Uh huh." Alex responded as he was about to finally take that drink.

"Why don't we make that into a reality?"

Alex stopped before he could drink and turned to the speedster, who was standing now.

"Excuse me?" He asked, confused.

The Spirit of St. Louis just extended both of his hands out, palms facing the ceiling. One hand was empty, the other hand had the glass of scotch he took from him on it.

"What are you doing?"

"Magic trick." Spirit answered.

Then in a flicker of white light, The Spirit seemed to have twitched and the other glass was in his other hand. But Alex could still feel some weight in his hand. He quickly looked down and his eyes widened at what he found. In his hand was his own heart.

"See, fantasy, meet reality."

Alex fell to the ground, dead before he landed.

"Stupid fuck." Spirit said as he threw both glasses at his body. Then he turned to the camera. "And there you have it, everyone. He built this company on bodies and innocent lives. He built his fortune by breaking and killing others. So, this is the Spirit of St. Louis, signing off for the night. Stay good, don't do anything wrong." Spirit began to laugh before speeding over to the camera. "Or else I will find you." He said in a dark tone.

He then proceeded to destroy the camera and laptop, both hidden, ending the live stream.

"Alright, who's next? Actually what's next? Hmmm. Actually, I'm gonna eat, I'm hungry man."

In a flash of white lightning, the Spirit ran out of the building and was already heading for a restaurant.
