I was still on the phone with Grace when the events of last month fled back to me. I tried fully sitting up in bed but being stopped by an overwhelming pain in my stomach. The shot.

A nurse walked in the room to check up on the patients in the room. When she sees me struggling to sit up she hurries over.
"Ms. Dumont! You're awake. Please rest your wound isn't healed yet."
I looked at her and then down at my stomach.
"Is it bad?"
She lowers her head, looking down at my stomach.
"You had...a lot of luck Ms. Dumont...The bullet just barely missed your vitals."
Barely? Hopefully I won't have to stay here for long, I mean I still have my show, right?
"Will I ever be able to sit up?"
She lets out a small chuckle. I haven't heard anyone chuckle in such a long time it just gave me a warm feeling...
"Of course you will! You're in good hands Ms. Dumont."
I gave her a smile. She made me feel good again, she gave me at least a bit of hope but...
"And what about my show?"
She looked away for a moment, thinking about something.
"It...It was canceled until you recover. They can't film without you."
That reassured me at least a bit, I mean at least I still have a job right?

The nurse stood up and hurried away to get a doctor, this was also when I realized I was still on the phone with Grace.
"Oh I'm sorry Grace, the nurse came."
She giggled a bit.
"It's alright don't worry, I'm just happy to hear your voice. I've been so worried in the last month...I wouldn't know what I would do if you didn't wake up.."
I felt tears well up in my eyes as I hear the sadness in her voice. She was the best friend I could've ever asked for.
"By the way.."
She interrupted my thoughts by clearing her throat.
"Bill called...multiple times."
My eyebrows furrowed.
"Bill? Who's...that?"

"It's worth another try, right?"
Tom just shook his head as he rubbed his temple with a sigh.
"Listen man I'm going to bed, it's way too late."
I nodded as I once again dialed Grace's number. It was the fourth time I'd called her that day. I had a gut feeling she'd finally wake up...
"Yes Bill?"
She answered the phone sounding groggy and annoyed, it was around six in Berlin so I don't blame her.
"I'm sorry to wake you but...any news?"
She sighed from the other end which defeated my hope.
"I'm sorry Bill."
I shut my phone and laid down on my bed.

I had gotten her number when me and Luna were at the beach bar and she talked about her best friend back in Berlin called Grace. "She's the best person I've ever met, I can always rely on her!"
I distinctly remember her saying that about Grace which enchanted me. I wanted her to say such a thing about me so I tried a bit harder but there was to little time left.

"I told you Bill."
I heard Tom say from his bed. I knew he was still awake, he also wanted to know if she woke up or not, after all she was a really good friend to us.

The nurse came back with the doctor and I smiled at her, she had such a warm Ora which made me smile despite the pain.
"Ms. Dumont it's a pleasure to meet you! I'm Dr. Herder I operated on you when you were admitted a month ago."
The doctor held out his hand towards me and I carefully shook it.

He said some more stuff but I didn't really listen, all I wanted to know is who this Bill is that Grace mentioned. Now that I think of it, I don't really remember much except the day of the accident...

At the end of his long speech or something the doctor said his goodbyes and left. The nurse was about to follow suit before I stopped her.
"Wait!"
She stopped in her tracks and turned back around.
"Do you need anything Miss?"
I shook my head and patted the place next to me on the hospital bed.
"Could you give me some company? And please, call me Luna."
I smiled at her as she sat down on a chair next to my hospital bed.
"I can't promise that I can stay here long but I'll try my best."
She gave me such a heartwarming smile that gave me a warm and fuzzy feeling, her smile reminded me of someone but I couldn't put my finger on it.

"How was the weather while I was asleep?"
She softly chuckled.
"You've been gone for a month and you ask me about the weather? Well it hasn't changed much, it's still nice and sunny in the day and nice and cool in the evening."
I chuckled with her and listened closely to her description of the weather.
"Well then I haven't missed much."
She nods and points towards a window next to my hospital bed.
"Want me to open the blinds?"
I nodded, eager to see nature even though I was in a city but at least a tree would be nice. As she opens the blinds my face gets illuminated by the sunlight and I feel nice and warm, the whole demeanor of the room had changed with her simple gesture. I smiled at her.
"Thank you so much."
She chuckled softly and nodded.
"Of course."

After a little while she left, we talked about the simplest things but it made me happy to talk to someone face to face. She had turned on the TV on her way out and I was just watching SpongeBob since that was my favorite show as a kid. I got distracted by my show when I heard loads of excited screams from outside. I looked out the window to find a big crowd of people surrounding four people who were trying to get into a building. It fascinated me how someone could be so devoted to a stranger...

✰𝐴/𝑁: I made a longer chapter bc I wasn't happy with my word count getting shorter by the chapter so here! Tomorrow I'll be on a long car ride so I'll probably write another chapter but after that I'm on skiing vacation so I probably won't update! Hope you enjoyed (*^‿^*)
