Chaos in High School

~*Chapter 14*~

POV: E-BAY HAIR

Date: September 17th, 2026

Jayden got up on Thursday, glad that he was able to stay home yesterday because he faked being sick, but he had to go today because his parents found out.

Bozos.

Jayden got ready, brushing his teeth, attempting to comb his hair but giving up after it broke(💀)  and wearing a basic white t-shirt, jeans and black Skechers. He went downstairs, got breakfast and took the bus to school. On the bus he saw all his friends and made his way to them.

"Sup guys?" he said.

"JAYDEN MY MAN!" Saathvik yelled.

"Hi Jayden," Ajay said, not breaking eye contact with Lotus.

"Hello Jayden," Ali said, waving to him.

When Jayden turned around he saw Samuel waving to him madly mouthing "HI!" and he waved back. He then saw Ashwini speed off to beat Samuel and he could almost hear him scream "ASHWINIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!"

"Honk." Melody said.

"WHAT?" Emily yelled back, making Jayden turn around.

Melody then got in her ✨ICONIC✨ gremlin pose and screamed back "HONK!"

"WHAT DOES HONK MEAN NOW YOU WHIMSICAL PIECE OF SHIT?" Emily hollered.

Soon the bus stopped at school and everyone got off the bus, Jayden was confused. Melody usually greeted him with a simple nod or wave and if she felt better, she would actually say hi.

"Hey Melody." Jayden said.

Melody had straight out ignored him and continued to talk to Ashwini and Ashwini actually looked serious for once as they were talking about something, he couldn't really hear it so it probably wasn't a big deal (Jayden logic💀).

"Hey Jayden," Athena called.

"Sup?" Jayden asked.

Athena then said, "Is Melody ignoring you?"

Jayden hesitated "Maybe, what's it to you though?"

"Nothing, just wondering who you're dating." she shrugged

Jayden yelled, "WHAT? I'M NOT DATING ANYONE! WHO TOLD YOU THAT?"

"Eh some juniors," Athena sighed, "That's what she thinks though, so have fun."

Melody, Ashwini, Emily, Johnny, Saathvik, Alisa and Jayden had the same first period: Math. Math went by quickly as Jayden didn't listen and caught himself staring at Melody all too many times. Then it was ELA. They were learning something about a diverse selection of world literature. But Jayden couldn't keep his mind off Melody.

"Hey Melody!" Alexander said, causing Jayden to have a twinge of jealousy.

She turned to look at him. "Oh, hi!"

"I found yet another Big Shot remix! It's a recorder cover!"

"Oh my fucking god what the hell is wrong with you WHY IS IT GOOD?"

Does she hate me now? I'm not dating someone- Wait. Why do I even care? And why do I care so much? Jayden thought. And why do I even notice if she's talking to Alexander? It then dawned on Jayden, why he cared that Melody thought he had a girlfriend, why he liked teasing her, why he kept thinking of Alexander as competition, and why he just generally liked her presence.

Cause you like her, you absolute dumbass.

Sitting there dumbfounded, he sat there in silence for the last few minutes until the bell rang. It was time for History. He sat through that class, trying to figure out the next move. He liked Melody but Melody definitely hated him so now what should he do? Should he apologize? For what? Should he explain? That's awkward. Should he confess?

Well...maybe.

History was over now, Lunch then. During lunch, it was unnaturally quiet, minus the so often Lojay moment. Something was off, Jayden saw that instead of Athena next to Ashwini as she usually was, Nova and Athena had switched places.

Weird.

The lunch bell soon rang and everyone went back to class, saying awkward goodbyes. Jayden then went to the rest of his classes, and the day was a blur. Really all he could think about was how bad he fucked up.
