Mac was a peculiar hen, in addition to being the only Scottish one and the only one who wore glasses, she was also highly intelligent for a simple chicken.

Mac, before the Tweedys farm, was on a farm in Scotland, where she spent her early life with her loving parents and energetic siblings, playing with them in the vast pastures and dancing ceilidh together.

Mac loved her life, but her happiness came to an end when the farm was in financial trouble and they had no choice but to sell her to another farm, forcing her to say goodbye to her family and go to a concentration camp disguised as an egg farm.

Mac had the disadvantage of being very shy, so interacting with the other chickens was a colossal task for her. That is until she met Ginger, the only hen who wanted to free everyone from that hell.

They both met when they were young girls, Ginger was so different from the rest: She was brave, determined and willing to do whatever it took to free all her companions. Ginger knew Mac had a gift, and always encouraged her to use it to the fullest, and also always asked her for help with her escape plans. It was the first time someone was so interested in her.

And without realizing it, Mac had fallen in love with Ginger.

She didn't understand why, she was the brain, but the feelings didn't have much to do with the calculations she made with such mastery. Still, Mac couldn't help but want to be more than a friend to Ginger.

There was just one slight problem: Ginger wasn't attracted to women. She was heterosexual.

Despite this inconvenience, Mac's love for Ginger remained alive, and she always looked for any opportunity to make her happy, either by supporting her or helping her with her plans.

Mac knew that one way or another she was going to be rejected, but for her, Ginger's happiness came first, so she always swallowed her feelings just to see her dear friend smile.

This is how things could have been, Mac could have told her feelings to Ginger.

But Rocky arrived. Well, rather, he crashed.

Mac accepted it. She knew she didn't have a chance with Ginger anymore. She would soon fall in love with the rooster and there was nothing she could do to stop it.

And indeed she was right, as soon she could see how the two were beginning to get along better, and it seemed that feelings were developing.

Mac couldn't be Ginger's better half anymore.

But that didn't matter to her.

It would hurt her poor broken heart, but she had always put Ginger's happiness first. She couldn't interfere in her friend's love life, if she was happy, there was nothing she could do.

If Ginger was happy, then Mac too.

Her heart was broken, but happy to see that Ginger was happy.

Ok, sorry if this One-shot is too short, but I just wanted to make a small chapter talking about Mac, she's one of my favorite characters and she deserves much more relevance

Also, I feel like Mac came to have feelings for Ginger, but as said here, in the end she had to accept that Ginger didn't love her just because she wanted to see her happy (shout out to this fallen soldier)

Well, if you mind, I'm going to draw the Smiling Critters as humans (seriously, I love their designs, I need stuffed animals of each one of them 😭)

Bye!
