19. Last conversation

Aurora was able to see Ethan two days later, two days in which she stayed home like she was sick. Although Olivia and Connie had insisted on getting her out of the house, they had not succeeded. Her friend finally didn't insist anymore.

Cassius accompanied her. To cross into the Kingdom of Angels she needed permission from the King or the power of an archangel. The king obviously gave no permission to anyone. But Cassius was willing to help as much as possible.

When Aurora opened the door and entered, she saw a very small room with a chair. The room was divided by a wall and, in the middle, a transparent plate that allowed you to see what was on the other side. Ethan was sitting behind the plate, waiting for her. When she saw him, she put her hands over her mouth to stifle a scream. His body was still sore and bruises and scratches were visible on his face. But he was her angel. She went over and sat down, nervous and trembling. Cassius stayed outside, behind the front door.

"We don't have much time," Ethan said.

"I know. I love you. I will always love you. I want you to know that," said Aurora, with a serious and confident posture.

He opened his eyes wide. He didn't expect her to be so direct.

"Me too. I love you. I love you so much."

"I'm sorry you had to meet me. Because of me, now you..."

"Never say that again, Aurora. Meeting you has been the most beautiful gift that life has offered me. I'm not sorry at all, and I would agree to protect you a million times over again without hesitation."

A tear fell down her cheek.

"I would never have thought that loving an angel would bring me so many problems," she laughed between tears. He looked at her with a sad smile. "But I'm glad I was able to love a true angel. Everything I said to you in the big wheel I said it sincerely because I feel comfortable with you. Thank you for always being by my side since we met" she smiled shyly.

"I've been by your side even before you knew me."

Aurora nearly choked on her own saliva.

"What?"

"I've always been with you, Aurora. Since you were born, I have been your guardian angel. Until the Lord asked me to come down to protect you because the demonic army has gained power lately. I didn't expect... to fall in love with you." She blushed. "I hope you can forgive me. I told you that I would always be by your side, and now... I have to leave forever." He looked at the floor, ashamed.

"I want to come with you to limbo."

"What? No. Only despicable beings live there. You're too good to be there."

"I want to be with you."

"I promise I'll be with you. Maybe not physically, but I'll be with you until the day you die. I promise you, Aurora."

Then Cassius entered.

"I'm sorry, Aurora, but we have to go. Time is up."

"Can't I touch him? Can't I give him one last kiss?"

Cassius sighed. It might cost him one of his wings if he was discovered, but he closed the door and unlocked one of the iron gates in the wall. Aurora crossed it and a few meters away was Ethan, standing, who couldn't believe the situation. She threw herself into his arms and began to cry on his chest while he hugged her and smelled the perfume of her hair. He hugged her tightly, very tightly.

"Aurora, you must promise me that you will live your life every second; that you will be strong; that you will continue to paint and you will be the best painter in the world. And you must promise me that you will contact your family, your brother. Think that I will always be by your side."

She looked at him for a few seconds.

"I promise."

Ethan cupped her face in both hands and kissed her passionately. She didn't resist it at all. Their lips met in a fusion of love, passion, magic and electricity. When they parted, his hands still in her hair, he said to her:

"And you have to fall in love again."

"I don't think I will be able to do this."

Cassius interrupted them.

"Guys, I'm sorry but the time has come."

Aurora started to cry. She gave him one last kiss on the lips and left with the archangel. Before he left the room, without Aurora hearing, Ethan said to his friend:

"Thanks. I needed to see her one last time. Take care of her."

"I know. And I will".

He closed the door.
